    Default RTW: preferences.txt doesnt work

    Hi guys:

Ive got a problem. I installed RTW in a PC (Windows 7) but the preferences.txt file (and the others) wasnt installed, so i found the files in this thread:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...notice-please)

I set that files in rome directory (where the Exe file is) but i think it doesnt work, because i changed some options like: DISABLE ARROW MARKERS, but it doesnt have effect in the game.

Somebody have any idea what am i doing wrong?

PD. Sorry for my bad english.

You should not put it in the same folder as the .exes
Go here for a fresh preferences.txt file: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...ws10-FIX/page3

The preferences.txt file is in the "spoiler" thingy.
The path where you should put it is in the same post, above the spoiler thingy.
The paths might be slightly different for you if you don't have RTW:Gold, but a different version.

    Hey Atahualpa,

So your preferences folder is here: "...Program Files/Activision/Rome Total War/Preferences/"
    Right?
You should not be putting stuff into the "Data" folder ("...Program Files/Activision/Rome Total War/Data/")
And your .exes should be here: "...Program Files/Activision/Rome Total War/RomeTW.exe"

Have you modded your game in the past?
You could always try re-installing your game and following the same steps over again.
Can be a bit of a hassle, but if you changed things in the above folders in the past, it will reset those changes.

Hi Skizzy, thatīs right, the preferences folder is in the rome total war folder, next to the exe files. And yes i have modded the game files before, but just the files inside of Data folder. Ok, I will re install the game and then i will tell you what was the result...
