Thread: The Province of Wessex

    Default The Province of Wessex

Don't often play in Western Europe (in fact, never), but have just noticed when turning of f.o.w. that the province that London stands in is called Wessex. Now, I'm not English and have never been to the UK, but shouldn't this province be called something else? My limited understanding of the Englands geography would lead me to believe that Kent, Essex, Sussex or Hampshire would all be more appropriate. The province of Hampshire appears to occupy the area where Wessex should be.
Just a little thing I thought may be worth mentioning, I love this mod and worship the people who have put their time and energy into developing this game to keep me entertained.

Wessex was the name of the province during Saxon England, the counties have not been fully created yet

wessex should be the region that winchester sits in.

london should be its own region.

this has been pointed out many times but we await the change.

dumnonia is archaic, belongs to earlier era.

By this time Dumonia should be known as Cornwall. Winchester is/was the capital of the Kingdom of Wessex. Rozanov is right to my mind, London should represent it's own province, but what I was trying to point out was that it sits in a combined area of Kent, Essex and Sussex. Any of those names would be more appropriate than Wessex.
