RTW: Can't Scroll?

I can't use my mouse scroll in Rome Total War. I don't have this problem in the sequels Medieval 2 and Empire Total War. Does anyone have experience with this problem the solution? I'm running on Windows Vista 32 bit.

I know this is far fetched
perhaps you could check the forums for your mouse and see if anyone has had the same problem

probably not but it wont hurt to check

also are you using steam?

do you have 2 mouses connected?

are you using a laptop that has a touch-pad with a mouse ?

Nope, I'm using a dekstop computer and I only have 1 mouse. I've used Steam in the past, but I deinstalled it after some issues with other games. I've already reinstalled the game, but that doesn't work either. I can still scroll with the - and the + buttons, but you can imagine that's kind of annoying. I hope someone comes up with the answer. I've googled almost every search combination with "Rome Total War" and "mouse scroll" but it doesn't work
