Would you like a little cheese with that whine?

Anyway, if it is going to happen then yay! Let's divert even more attention (and billions of dollars) away from fixing New Orleans.

Given the US' track record over the last 20 odd years, he has every right to be concerned. Nothing to do with GWB, to be honest. America is developing a nasty habit...

I guess that in the Pentagon drawers there are plans to invade every other country, except possibly Canada. In my mind this could be an intentional leak, just to caution Chavez, It could easily be Chavez crying wolf, or it could be a very real leak of a very real plan. And if you think that the US needs excuses to invade think again.

I don't really think it's possible... even if Mr. Bush wanted for it to happen.

Ahh come on guys, let Dubya invade Venezuela so his approval rating can slip farther than it has and have even more people wishing for his head, since he's already screwed up three countries...why not a fourth.

Why not? If mr. Bush wants it, there is nothing stopping him really; especially as it givces his successor a simple platform to get elected on, "We will reverse the mstakes of previous administrations"!

USA is playing world police and invading other countries with no good reason to start war. You maybe have some reasons but not any that big what would make another war acceptable. If you start that war maybe Europe wakes up then. You cant underestimate europes power Russia, Great Britain, France and Germany an small other countries. You cant really anymore start any big war like Venezuela would came cause they got real army. Iraq and Afganistan didin't have very organized army. And you cant even good keep them under your control. And as I sayd maybe then Europes big countries would wake up. Dont wake sleeping bear.

He claims to have evidence, and we all know certian facts; first, he is a dictator in a socialist country that is working well. Already a big threat ideologically. Next we can add in the way he is covering US exports in South America and is giving the US oil. conomic threat or egoistic threat. Then we have the evidence of Pat Robertson. Rather simple; the US has been told God wants Chavez dead. And then there's that global police stuff the US believes in. He has every right to be worried, especially if the plans exist.

I believe we did a good job with Afghanistan.
We've done a great job with Iraq. If you want to compare it with setting up a new society, go research about what it took for Japan after WW2 with the US's involvement.

I don't want my opinions about Afghan. and Iraq argued, because thats my opinion formulated over the last year of having it debated and thought over.

As for Chavez, well if what he says is true, than it is true. The US does like to have reconning, such as illegally over the former USSR ..... and though we probably had invasion plans up the wazoo for the USSR homeland, but we never did did we?

At Iraq your pitty war has made country much more miserable than it was. But positive evolving is happening at Iraq. Your war sisint go like you planned. More and more revolts are starting. You definetly have problems to keep Iraq on your hands.

I dont know where you are getting your news, but more and more revolts are not starting. In case you havent heard, most insurgent fighters are in fact NOT IRAQI. They have even found Chechnyans among them. Iraq has become a meeting place of many terrorist groups. Learn some proper grammar and read the news more.

No one in their right mind would start another war when a quagmire such as Iraq is taking place at this moment. Furthermore, the disaster in New Orleans PROVES that America's forces are overextended and undersupplied. Another invasion would take billions of dollars and hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Chavists aren't exactly the most peaceful of people either (try staying a week in Caracas)... It would take the consent of the Congress for the country to go to a long-term war against Venezuela as well, and that is nearly impossible, especially given the political antagonisms against Iraq at this present moment.

Or it could be that Chavez is an Attention ***** and a nutjob.

The United States has contingent plans to invade or repulse attacks from every nation on this Earth, he probably simply got his hands on these documents. I believe someone previously mentioned this, I just skimmed down the posts.

Chavez is just a little attention wanting *****, why would the U.S divert billions of dollars worth of resources out of New Orleans, Iraq, and Afghanistan to invade Venezuela, besides I don't think GWB wants his approval ratings lower then it already is.
