Why is it that Adunabar can't get the Minas Anor Palantir back if they lose it (unless you change the trigger)?

I wasn't in the team when these were coded, so I can' give you a reason. Every single anc and trait will be reviewed/redone for DoM though, so this will probably change.

Actually I used the console to increase the Diplomat's Influence and I managed to bribe the ex-king. He just had Heurmor so there little point having him, I was hoping for ther Palantir of Minas Anor or the Westemnet Blade.

The only ex-king I have not been able to bribe has been the RK king. He has a perfect 10 in influence, but so did the ex-king of Dunland who I was able to bribe. I have not been able to bribe the RK ex-king even with a 10 influence diplomat and more money than God. There must me some other attribute which affects the capacity of an ex-king to be bribed.

Well he had a huge amount of influence so I assumed he had other ancillaries beyond Herumor to call upon. Ah well, I just charged him into some Easterlings so he could redeem himself and take Herumor with him I did the same with Cermendur when he got to about 70, passed on his ancillaries to his heir then charged him and his 50 bodyguard into an army of 1200 Harad. He utterly destroyed them, took about 4 battles before he finally died like a true Dunedain. Only thing I have seen thats more badass are Dwarven Miners.

I tried typing in the console commands for the ancillaries but the console said they were not in the database so either I am typing something wrong or I've buggered up somewhere before.

By this do you mean that the " -ne" must be followed by resolution specifications such as 640x400? I ask because the " -ne" does not seem to work; the game keeps minimising itself.

No, no, " -ne" is standalone, just like " -nm" for no movies, or " -show_err" for error reports. Changing the resolution might be required because if you use 'ne' and set a resolution higher than your screen's, half the game window will be invisible.

No idea why it keeps minimising.

Well, given the other queer features we have found in my files for this game, it may be that " -ne" simply will not work for me. I am using windows vista, so maybe that is why everything is all jacked up. Not much chance of that situation changing within the next couple of months.

Heres a question regarding the lore of FATW. Essentially what happened to Eldarion in-universe? I know from a gameplay point of view it would have been impossible to have him as faction leader due to his probable age at the time being well beyond that of the games limits. But what would have been the reason for his demise in-story? I tended to assume that Shadow Cultists or some assassin of Adunabar killing him shortly before the game starts or something. Any comments on this?

Well, he simply died of old age.

The Shadow Cult I think rose quite some time after Eldarion's death. At least, it became powerful quite some time later.

Isn't Eldarion still in-game from the start actually? I thought I saw him, he already gave the kingship up in favour of his son Cemendur, but he's still there, or is that someone else?
