I saw a unit on the stills that ran the risk of looking real but not quite it even had a Spanghelm
Anything is better than 300 ! the 1960s one was better ,The 300 Spartans but hey not here to talk Hollywoods crazy interpretations of history ,they even get historical consultants ,i wonder how much they pay them ?

Sure, 300 is not a historically-accurate movie but the thing is that it was never intended to be. It is based on a graphic novel (which is nothing else but another name for comic books) by Frank Miller who has written on Batman. So as you can imagine, 300 was far away from the real events. Granted, the graphic novel is based on real events but they they took advantage of the licenses that the comic book genre allow. We can say that '300' was a comic book style interpretation of the events at Thermopylae. In that context, it was a movie very faithful to the original work (the graphic novel) .

Not really a fan of 300, I just happened to enjoy the movie but I'm a fan of the comic book genre. When I was little I had tons of superheroes stuff like magazines and toys. I still keep a few items nowadays .

take care of those books - they become perhaps very expensive in the future. I sold a lot of my Comics 10 years ago for peanuts. And today I find the same books for a lot of money in eBay. But I'm lucky to have some good Comics left.

the 300 was not a bad movie the action was fun to say the least.
the only thing about that I hate is the fact it killed Gates Of Fire dead, so now the book that got me into historical fiction and well ancient times will never be a movie..

My oh my, that is astonishing work. Even the things done with vanilla buildings show that the standard identikit cities are a waste given what can be done. 10/10. This mod is the one I am most looking forward to.

Pomps promise me that you will have your own 6thcenturyroma.com soon, I really take off the hat to your for bringing early medieval Roma, for those who don't know, pomps has been gathering sources about the late Roman empire -the early byz empire- to make him able to reconstruct the ancient cities of Rome, Alexandria,Constantinople and till the moment he's pretty successful.
anyhow thanks pomps & Wundai (the samurai guy)
