EnemyofSociety here is what you need:

vista> the windows menu and type dxdiag. Run it and please copy only the info shown here!
    the info:
    CPU: P7350
RAM: 4g DDR2 800MHZ (don't need to be that specific)
    HD: 320g
    Graphics Card: HD 4670m 512mb
    monitor/resolution: since it's a notebook I don't know the manufacturer/ 1366*768
OS: Windows 7 64 bit (it needs to be that specific)
If you have anymore trouble understanding it I'll post some screens, ok?

I have the Dell XPS 630I system
    Core 2 Q9550
    RAM 6GB
    64 bit system

I have plenty of system and memory to run this game, however, ever sense the last update I cannot get paast rougly 38-40 turns and the game will no longer open when I go in to continue. I can get into to upload the game, which I have saved and it will crash and go back to the desktop. It simply says error game failed to load. It happens at the same point every time.

    Any help is appreciated

Playing that long without a break is a candidate for a memory leak.

Corrupted save games are a known issue and there is no fix.

The only thing left is start a new campaign.

Enemy0fSociety this is getting complicated, but the probability is that you have driver issues, and since this is a fairly old comp, it would be advisable that you clean the pc physically.

Now for the drivers you have to go to intel page and seek there, paste the motherboard, it will give you the right drivers. Now for the clean up, take the comp outside and use a vacuum cleaner that blows, and clean it up. hold gently the cooler ok.

Yo guys, I've been playing ETW for quite a while. Never really payed much attention to forums, mods, etc. Just played good old vanilla. Worked fine. Now at some point, things got f'd up. You know the army organisation, right? First you've got your general, then your artillery, cavalry, infantry and last but not least, dragoons. All of these would be numerically numbered: first you'd have the 1st reg., then the 2nd, etc...But now it's all mixed up. This may not seem an important issue, but it's really ruining the game for me. Any ideas?

I am thinking about doing this:

This can be solved by a simple reinstall. Now doing it the right way.

1- you will need to donwload ccleaner (www.ccleaner.com)
2- uninstall the game and steam, standard procedure.
    3- reboot
4- go to the %appdata% ( put this in the search) and delete the creative assembly folder and the steam folder.
5- use ccleaner to clean up the registry, and while doing that clean up the pc as well.
    6-reboot
    7- install ETW and steam.

This simple thing should solve a lot of your problems.

However I have several other games on steam, I am worried uninstalling steam will mess up my other games.

It didn't mess with my steam account, since its a simple matter of logging, although you could only uninstall etw, if you're afraid

    Allright

    Motherboard: Asus P5B
    Gfx: Ati HD5770 1024 Mb
Cpu: Intel Core 2 Duo 2,66 Ghz
    Memory: 4 x 1Gb Kingston 667 Mhz
Monitor: 38 inch full HD TV, ingame resolution set to 1360x768 60 Hrtz.

my battles crash upon me every so often for as far as i can remember.

Now i've tried many things, lowering my graphics and tweaking them extensively, rolling back my drivers, i even bought a new gfx card, from a Geforce 8800 386 Mb to an ATI HD5770 1024Mb, still nothing.

Nothing works so far and normally the game would just freeze and then CTD with the "Empire has stopped working message" but just now it did the same thing, but with this message:

"The instruction at 0x72b06023 referenced memory at 0x67006914. the memory could not be read.
Click on OK to terminate the program"

Now thats just gibberish to me, but im betting some of you can make sense out of this and then maybe, just maybe i can finally solve this problem that has been plagueing me for months.

    Thanks in advance.

CPU: Dimension DXC061 (Dell XPS 210)
    RAM: 2g
HD: How do I find this?
Graphics Card: How do I find this?
monitor/resolution: It says Standard Monitor Types on Radeon X1300/X1550 Series
    OS: Windows Vista 32 bit

It won't let me start RTI Episode 3 because after I finish the opening battle, it crashes. "Empire: Total War has stopped working."

I haven't done anything. I installed it, started a campaign, but got too confused so I went to RTI, learned what each thing does and loved it. Then, boom.

It sounds random since others have been able to finsh the campaign. Start a new RTI campaign.

It stops about 3/4 of the way on the loading bar after I defeat the British in the RTI campaign at the start of Episode 3.
