Rome total war gold edition

I have bought a new computer with the system Windows 7 home premium.
And now I wanted to install the patches 1.6 and 1.5 for rome total war gold edition
But when I want to start the game it says that there is an error and I can't play it anymore.

Try reinstalling again. Those patches are a pain to install

You can't install any patches for RTW Gold Edition (DVD), because this version has both of them.

To check the version of RTW and/or RTW BI look at the top right hand side of the Options Menu. Do this for both RTW and RTW BI. If RTW is not 1.5 and/or RTW BI is not 1.6 then you need to patch, otherwise not.

This is true. However I've found some game effects (RTW 1.5-patch), which are not activated in the RTW Gold Edition when you play the roman empire campaign.

i tried to reinstall it, it still doesn't work
and the menu options says it runs on 1.5 and it doesn't work to extract the patches they aren't compatible, so wich ones do I have to download?

If the options window says 1.5, you are patched. If you are still trying to patch it, you are fighting a losing battle.

If that be the case, they are still on the disc. You can go to the Mod Workshop and learn how to manually insert them in their respective files. Installing a 1.5 patch on a 1.5 patch is not going to do it.

What it's not working ?

Look on the disc label, if the label is something like this:

ROME
Total War

GOLD EDITION

ROME
Total War
Barbarian Invasion
-------------------

Do you have the same title on the disc box ?

What game effect, I really mean was the settlement effect gained from the academy buildings. I've also discover a minor error settlement issue. It shows road on the campaign map in the 'Agusta Trevenorum', located south of the 'Alemanni' faction capitol region. A closer look in the settlement you found that no roads has built at all. These two tweaks have I already fixed, but thanks for you tip irishron.

@diplomat4war, the game is bugged. Even Bi 1.6 is bugged. That's why ever since the first RTR was released, I have been playing mos. They try to fix the obvious errors and try to endrun the hardcoded ones.

As fas as being slow to reply, it's okay. I've been slow too often.

I think that the best solution for CA is to release a brand new version of 'RTW - Gold Edition v2.0, which is based on Windows 7 (32/64-bit) DirectX.

I wonder where is Benjamin91 ? After all this is he topic not ours.

It won't get updated anymore the Medieval 1 and Shogun.

It's been long enough I'm going to close it. He can start a new thread if the problem persists.
