That might be caused by a rapid expansion from you. Read the house rules (in the game read the building description for the scroll looking building in your capital) and follows them and you are sure to have a harder game.

I've already read them at the beginning of my campaign. But I could not wait so many years to expand my empire! XD

However I've conquest minor settlements. Then yes I've conquest the entire Iberia, but it didn't help me, at the contrary I've lost many troups and my financial situation was terrible because of Iberia conquest.
And when I've attacked and conquest the first Roman city, the time passed from the beginning of my game was at least 40 years. So I don't think my fast expansion gives me great advantage over Romans. Probably if I would waited 40 years without making wars, I had a more powerful and bigger army.

Anyway I've just conquest Taranto, the way for Rome is still long. Maybe Roman AI is keeping best troups to protect the capital!!

If you don't follow the rules, why are you surprised the mod does not function as expected, and more importantly why complain about it?

It would as you would have had to fight a war against a harder Spanish faction and thus taken you a longer time until you would face the romans which might have been able to reform their army by that time.

    Guys, I love this mod!

I thought to be too strong, but I was terrible wrong! The AI is perfect! So you can delete my previous replies!

I've done a terrible mistake declaring war to the Romans. They have a lot of powerful armies and they kick me out of Italy! And the Galli is attacking my settlements in Iberic peninsula, but I've no army there!

I'm really happy now, because I'm loosing! This is a real challenge!

Like Pyrrhus told "one more such victory would utterly undo him". I won a lot of battles against the Romans, but win the war is another thing. The Romans replace their men really fast!

This is a clear sign that you've expanded too quickly. If you'd maintained an army near the border with Gaul then there is a good chance that they would not attack you immediately - they will go away and come back with more armies later on, but you should see the warning signs.

If you've built up your infrasture (trade, roads, income generating buildings) then you would be able to afford these armies.

    You're right!

I'm really good on the battlefield, but not in the management of my empire. I've conquest too much without building the necessary infrastructure. This proves that this mod works fine even if the player begins his expansion from the first turns.

Probably I'll let Gaul conquest my Iberic settlements. They give me a lot of trouble and I loose money every turn because of them.

    Hey,

I installed vanilla RTW, and then followed the install guide of RS1.6, but i have a lot of bugs. You always mention to install RS1.6 on BI or Alex to increase difficulty.
Does this also reduce the number of bugs? Nevertheless im about to finish my roman campaign (Parthia and C.Bosphoran left) until RS2.0 is out.

Some of these bugs are known, but many of them are from the RTW not from RSI.

I've installed RS 1.6a on Alexander (Steam version, so it's updated to last patch) and I didn't experience any bug/crash/problem. Everything is perfect and really stable.

Nice to hear that, but soon you'll have a real strategy game..

Will RSII have any recommended house rules?

Sorry if this seems off-topic but I didn't remember there being house rules for RS 1.5, I might have been confusing it with SPQR.

    Hi anarkeez

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=65725

Everything you need is in that thread. The new patches are also included at the end.

If you need more help, post in the main 1.6 forum (or send me a message). The 1.6 forum hardly has any visitors since RS2 was released but
a few faithfuls and the moderators are still around.

    Good luck.
