New Government Buildings for RC/RR -download
I've worked out 4 new governmental buildings that require the capital hidden_resource and give faction wide bonuses
Parliament
Treasury
Chancellory
Law Courts
have done text and .tgas and the EDB work. Have sorted out the building browser glitch so should work properly now. Now added the amended buildings enum file.
buildings won't appear on the battle maps. (unless someone makes them.)
this first version is for my 2TPY / PSF etc mod
Unzip into the Stainless_Steel_6 folder
overwrite where requested.
delete map.rwm from world/maps/base folder
start new campaign

I'm hoping this will fit into the existing single file download for v0.4

Re: New Government Buildings - help needed
This is the data file to be unzipped into the Stainless_Steel_6 folder if you want to use my new government buildings in PB's vanilla RC/RR compilation:
Same 4 buildings enabled for all playable cultures.

Re: New Government Buildings for RC/RR -download
OK now they're up please note:
Currently the text and graphics are the same for all cultures.
They should be regarded as placeholders until such time as people contribute their own culture and faction specific versions.
(Sadly that's far too much work for me to do.)
I know enough history to know that some cultures and factions would find one or more of the government buildings inappropriate for the medieval period.
The files are sufficiently adaptable that some cultures and factions can use the basic format but have entirely different text and graphics.
The small icons are .tga format and 78 x 62 pixels
the larger ones are .tga format and 300 x 245 pixels.
You can convert many images and resize them using packages such as Paint .NET which is free and easy to use.
Feel free to post any you think may be useful.

Re: New Government Buildings for RC/RR -download
I understand the others, but why allow for the law courts just in the capital?

Re: New Government Buildings for RC/RR -download
Well the capital is where the top level courts would be, with the greatest concentration of lawyers and judges etc.
one could do lower level county or shire courts which gave bonuses only for their region, but I don't know much about how legal systems were arranged other than england.
By having these all in the capital it makes it much more valuable to a faction - but you can always set up more courts etc in any other region which has the capital hidden_resource -
so England could build all these in Paris and Edinburgh (and vice versa) for example.
It therefore becomes more valuable to an attacker to take these regions as the bonuses are cumulative.
(All early days with these buildings but I can see options for interactive events for human players, where the faction leader gets a summons to
Parliament, and if he goes gets a reward of money or units.)
(Maybe he'll get told to go to law courts to defend himself against charges of treason - who knows!!)
