The Greek Wars

The Greek Wars is modfoldered. Here is the latest version, incorporating the new, expanded map. Be sure to install 1.0 and then the 1.01 patch over it. (Update: Since Megaupload's downfall, only version 1.01 is available for download, with the first link below)


- The Greek Wars ver 1.01
Requires Rome Total War version 1.5
Before installing "The Greek Wars" it would be prudent to create a backup of the folder Rome - Total War.
This is not a version supported by autoinstaller. You should unpack the files into your standard RTW folder. To launch the mod you should run tgw.bat in the folder where you have installed the Mod.

How come TGW doesn't use a usual RTW desktop icon for start-up?

It's not a bother or anything to me (I just create a desktop short cut of the tgw.bat file so I can start it without opening up the main RTW folder), I'm just curious.

The simple answer I suppose is that one was never made for it. We could probably add one for the version 1 release though.

This looks really awesome and I'd love to download, but it says I need to host Rome: Total War 1.5, and I have 1.3. How can I update mine, or do I just have ot buy a new version of the game?

Yes. There is a patch on the Total War website.

I actually have one more question if you all can stomach someone as technologically in-advanced as me, hah. It says up there that I should create a backup folder for Rome: Total War (and probably Barbarian Invasion too), except I've got no clue how to make a backup folder. Could anyone help me out, or is there a thread somewhere that gives instructions?

well...is something suggested, it doesn't imply you have to do it...personally, i never create back up folder...

anyway it's easy, just copy and paste the folder where rome total war is (C:/Programs/The Creative Assembly) and paste it somewhere else...

Give us some details. When does it stop working? When you start a battle? While it's loading? Which version of Rome are you using? Is it the steam version?

ive never added any mod to rtw, so i should have just a basic rtw "minus the faction descr-strat thingy" how would i kno what version i have. and are patches in rtw like wow where you hav to do each 1, or can you just do the newest EX-1.0 to 12 or is it 1.0 1.1 1.2 ect.

huh?

This mod is modfoldered, which means it does not affect or overwrite the original game at all.

You open it by opening the "TGW" batch file that is created in the rome total war directory.

unless you have bought Rome using steam, in which case it's a bit more complicated then that.

As for the patches, I would just install them all up to 1.5, just to be on the safe side, but you probably only need patch 1.5.
