Default Windows 7 / Graphics Card

    Hello Guys

Please take pity on an old gamer who is something of a technology throwback.

My current rig (Windows XP - ATI Radeon 9800 XT) is giving up on me after many years of problem free RTW playing.

I am considering a Sony all-in-one with windows 7 home premium 64 bit + NVIDIA Geforce 9300M GS 256MB graphics.

Will RTW be playable with these new specs? I see from Microsoft's site that RTW/BI currently show as unsupported for Win 7, and I know nothing about graphics cards and don't know whether this NVIDIA card is better or worse than my old ATI card.

    Thanks in advance.

Is that memory going to be dedicated to the graphics chip and not shared?

Yep - dedicated - assuming PC World UK are to be believed

It will run Rome and BI. I would not try Medieval2 with it, though.

I can play it and I'm running Win 7 Pro 64bit. Just run it as admin and XP compatibility.

Ah....XP compatability.....I believe that is only available on win 7 Pro, not basic win 7 Home.

Methinks I shall have to shell out for the Pro version.....

    Thanks again for the help.

I can play it on my Windows 7 system (also 64 bit - it may be the pro version but it may be the Home Premium as I had that version of Vista and got an upgrade from Dell to 7) without having to use XP compatability mode. I installed to a folder other than "c:\program files (x86)" as well.
