INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATCH 2.08:
===============================================
1. You need LOTR-TW Open Beta v2.0 installed (Mod for Alexander TW, expansion of Rome TW).
2. Extract this patch over the main RTW folder where RomeTW-ALX.exe is placed.
It will copy some files into main Data folder, but it will not overwrite any vanilla file.
3. It is recommended to install this patch over a clean 2.0 installation.
ATENTION
# If you install it over v2.06, you need to remove these files:
\alexander\lotrtw\data\descr_items.txt
\alexander\lotrtw\data\descr_items.db
# If you have alpha version 2.07 installed, you would need to delete the whole folder alexander/lotrtw/data
and then to reinstall Open Beta 2.0, before installing this 2.08 patch.
# You can install 2.08c over 2.08b without problems.
4. A shortcut with the name "Lord of The Rings - Total War" will be created in your Desktop, to launch the mod.

CHANGES PATCH 2.08
===============================================
- Included all cities and buildings made by Seth Krnell: Minas Tirith, Helm's Deep, Minas Morgul, Orthanc, Barad-dur, Edoras.
- Improved battle landscapes, using new textures and vegetation from NTW2. Original vegetation has also been resized and redistributed using ideas from old mods.
- Improved Lighting effects. Specially the new weather for Mordor, and the battles at night (with torches).
- Improved Campaign maps: Many little adjustments, specially around known cities.
- New heroe models: Theodred and Lurtz; Gandalf the Grey; Merry, Pippin and Boromir in travel clothes; Legolas and Aragorn with bows.
- Added sprites for hero models (for better performance).
- Adjusted economy of evil factions, and balance of AI in campaign.
- Adjusted unit stats for multiplayer
- Other changes like Lothlorien Sentinel texture (that caused visual glitches), Osgiliath strat model improved by Wlesmana, Argonaths and Elostirion campaign models made by King Kong, new isengard scales made by Tranky...
- Fixed important bug in spanish and italian traductions that was causing ctds at campaign.
- Fixed some bugs that caused ctds at city battles, or missing building error messages.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Historical Battles:
1) Last Alliance: 3vs2, all playable, can deploy
2) Helm's Deep: 3vs1, all playable except rohan cavalry reinforcement, no deploy
3) Pelennor Fields: 4vs3, all playable, no deploy
4) 3 mini-battles from the Fellowship of the Ring: Ambush at Amon hen, Weathertop, and Battle against Wargs.
Included small size versions for Helm and Pelennor battles that should run at any computer.
IMPORTANT: Note the number of soldiers is halfed in the HBs if you play with Small unit size settings.
Scripts for Singleplayer:
* Sauron and Witchking are invulnerable unless they are engaged in melee.
* At helm's deep, the torch runner of Isengard automatically run toward the wall and the wall is broken when it arrives.
Regrettably, if there is already a ladder in this section of the wall, another section is destroyed... and the cool effect is lost. We will try to fix it.
* At pellenor field, a script forces Mumaks to attack Rohan when he arrives. Else, they stand behind, not moving at all until the gate is captured.
Another script keeps the Mumaks from entering into the city to avoid blocking the gate.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Custom battles: Now they use lotr-tw map, so old locations will look weird.
Locations with lotr map image (and settlements allowed) have been selected from different climates and ground types, trying to allow balanced multiplayer battles.
All heroes have been added with custom portraits. They use standard units so people can use them in multiplayer with same balance.
Free-peoples can manage the Fellowship units (from the FOTR scenario), and now they should be fun to play, though they could need some more balance.
In the custom battle menu, you can choose a settlement to test the new cities:
* Gondor huge city = Minas Tirith
* Northmen huge city = Helm's Deep
* Mordor large city = Isengard
* Mordor huge city = Minas Morgul
This is the only way to use them in multiplayer. The problem is they are placed in the center of the map, with wrong orientation in the case of MT and HD.
