    Default Mod suggestion/request.

Forgive my noobishness if I have not placed this thread where it is supposed to go, I am still figuring my way around here.

My mod idea( which is not actually a mod idea) has occurred to me a while back but I never payed it enough attention....until I discovered twcenter.net
So, I was wondering...why Isn't anyone making a mod out of Rome: Total War vanilla for Medieval II: Total War?
Yup, that's about it....I want to ask why this hasn't been done yet and(whether it is because it is very time consuming, complicated, nobody came up with this idea or it would infringe some copyrights or something), whether this idea was mentioned before.

What do you mean exactly? A roman era mod made on the M2TW engine?

Nope, I mean the exact same game as R:TW vanilla, but as a mod running on the M2TW engine(with improved graphics and gameplay).

You mean converting RTW to mTW2. I doubt anyone would take the time.

Oh, so it would just be time consuming, but...is it possible? I mean, would the phalanx formation and cantabrian circle(and other stuff as well) be "convertible"?

M2TW has its own phalanx formation (spear-wall or whatever), so it would require a new animation. Testudo is also missing, the other special abilities are there, iirc. Also M2TW currently doesn't allow major editing of battlemap buildings.

Generally, anyone bothering to port RTW to M2TW would not want to leave it just like RTW vanilla was, and would change things to be more historical/to one's liking, so you would end up with a RTW-timeframe mod and not just a pure porting to the 'new' engine.
