Thread: White UI bug

  1. #1

    Default White UI bug

    Hi,

I just installed the mod, by dling it, and directly unzipping it to the correct folder.

I also applied the fix for the desc_strat file

However, when I launch the mod, I get white UI in battles and on campaign, making it near impossible to play.

My M2TW install is clean and patched to 1.2, I do not have Kingdoms

    How can I fix this?

    Thanks

If its a white out screen you need to remove the geography files in vanilla so that you can play battle...if not...do you think you can send me a screen print of your issue? I will look into it immediately.

Just some background: I have medieval 2 total war, patched to 1.2. I DO NOT have kingdoms.

I unzipped the download that I got from this website directly into the medieval 2 folder, then launched the game from the .bat as directed. As can be seen from the screenshots, not only are the UI textures messed up, but it appears that the resolution is not right either, as the entire menu appears cut off. I have never had any issues with the standard install of M2, so I don't think its a performance problem for my computer. I replicated the M2TW settings exactly on the Long Road.

Anyway, I hope the screenshots are useful, I am currently in the process of a full reinstall.

EDIT: Ah, I just noticed there is a patch 1.3, do I need to get that for this to work?

even after a complete reinstall of medieval 2, patching to 1.3 and re-downloading and installing the mod, it still has the white UI problem, it also returns to the main menu when I try and start a campaign now.......

the normal medieval 2 still works fine.

Seriously? Look at the stickies, Cackles. I would appreciate it if you actually read the threads involved. It would save you asking me constantly to help you and it allows me to attend to matters that improve the game.

EDIT: having looked at the forum again I must admit on this ocassion I was dumb XD

I have been having this problem too and I cannot get it fixed with any suggestion posted here. I really like the looks of this mod and would really love to play it. I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

Get MTW2 with 1.2 or 1.3 patch instal TLR 2.0 and then unpack TLR 2.4 and then fix.Problem is solved u need to have old 2.0 it helps in my case. But its unplayable because of crashes because independets are now thinking faction and when they make bad move game is down.

Already have the main game patched and ready to go before I posted on this thread. I am still having said problem. I have done everything that was suggested on here so far.

Another problem that may help to explain this issue is that when I go to quick battle every unit in the battle starts out dead on both sides. I dont know if that helps to find a solution but I hope it does.

I have that exact same problem too.

I don't think that downloading the UI files separately would help. The images are all there, in data/UI/[region_name]/interface. It's just that the mod somehow doesn't know how to access them, and it's most definitely not due to the game not being patched or something, because when I start vanilla, everything works fine.

    I found a solution!
You have to copy the entire UI folder from within the TLR folder, and paste it into the data folder of vanilla. It's an ugly solution, since it eats away a further 500 megs from your hard drive, but it works.

Cheers. Copying the UI folder resolved my issue too.
