Looks good Hesus,
@ B. It looks good but it seems you didn't read the whole lesson.
I told you to use the pictures I used. Anyway I won't be to harsh as it seems that you've put a decent amount of time in it

Lol, I read it a first time, but then it wasn't very thorougly Then, I remembered how you did it all, and started doing as far as I could remember you did Only really read the last 10 staps very thorougly
But I wanted to end the lesson in style (which means, not by copying the teacher's moves )
No worries mate

Hmmm. This probably is a basic problem, but I can't seem to get the same effect that you do in Step 5. I 'alpha-to-selection'ed the patch of beach, clicked on the background layer, copied, then pasted it onto a new layer. But no matter how I colourise it, I can't get that shade of colour that's in your picture. Anything I could be doing wrong? Or do I need to post my xcf?
-I have a problem at step 30.
So, will I do the colour map thing to that image which I made at step 29 or do I first copy everything visible on my screen?

I actually reduced the opacity of my C4D layers because they were dominating the picture too much. I also had to redo the radial white-black gradient with less black to stop my huts disappearing into the gloom.
My XCF
Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I just can't seem to get that same shade of water.
I'm not sure how you created your turquoise beach copy layer, so I anchored it and made it invisible.
Then I did the following:
- Move focus to the original beach layer in the layer window.
- Choose Alpha from Selection from the right-click pop-up in the layer window.
- Change the focus to the Background snow layer.
- Copy the Beach selection from the Background layer (Ctrl-C).
- Edit | Paste as New Layer.
- Slide the pasted picture to the original position of the beach.
- Set the layer mode to Colour.
- Move the new layer above the beach layer.
The effect of all this is that you have a cut-out from the background snow-scape of the same shape as the beach, but containing the snow-scape colours. By putting this layer above the beach layer and setting it to mode Colour, it acts as a colour filter, making the beach look more like the snow-scape.
We do the same thing later with the huts and the tree.
Did you use the dodge tool instead of the burn tool?
looks good to me Caramon, will wait for lolgast to comment and add you to the completed list.
