Problem installing....

Recently got a new PC and I want to put Med 2 gold on it. But halfway through it gets an error message saying something about the game being English. Could someone help?



It's Windows 7

That error is common. Nothing to do with 7.

Clean the disc, check it for dirt, scratches, etc.

I'll clean it again and see what happens. I'm pretty sure I should use water right?

A dry cloth works good. If you have anything like food stuck to it, yeah.

Is it scratched anywhere? If so you might use a white toothpaste to rub into the scratches....

As far as I can see, it isn't at all scratched.

It could be a bad dvd. Can you try it on another computer?

It says BD-Rom. Is that it.



Another wierd thing is that their is one below it that has nothing in it. You can't eject and when you open it manually it's just metal.

I'll bet your new drive is too new for this old game.

The first run of bru-ray drivers released are not backward compatible to the format these discs were made.

If you can find a set of drivers that are backward compatible, you are in business. If not, you'll need a drive that will.

This problem cropped uphere some months ago when the blu-ray craze caught up with us.

Is it legal to copy files onto a CD disk (as I just saw on the box "only DVD compatible") and see if it works with that?

You can legally copy the dvds to your desktop and run the launcher.exe from there.

Depends on which country you're in and who you talk to. The law in any country covering this is outdated and rulings almost always side with the maker. That is why I put it the way I did.

Sorry to revive the old problem but it still isn't working. I copied the files to the desktop but then it asks me to specify a path for "data3.cab". I don't know where that is, here is the error message.




"Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk.


Please check that a proper disk is inserted or choose another path"


Sorry but I really like this game. If you can help then I'll rep you till the end of time.

If you copied it to your desktop, use the search/browse feature and go back up the folders to desktop and then on the disc folder. I hope it works. It's been too long since I've had to.
