Do you people actually think that if people find out the age of a mod leader would affect them?
Would they leave the mod?
Or be in awe?
Yes
No

Depends on a lot of things. However, this is the internet. I can be 15 or 55 years old without you even knowing.![]()
What's this thread really about?
"The reputation of thousand years may be determined by the conduct of one hour"
my co-leader, Beorn of Carrock, in FROME is 17-18 and i am 29-30
not to mention that i could be his teacher , since we both are greeks and he is still a student
But he honored me to be our mod leader allthough i was thinking of him to take leadership , since 70% of our project is based on his inspiration
so no problem at all if a leader is young or old .... all that matters is good understanding/focusing on targets and clear of view of what u
want.... I admitt that these "virtues" are rare in youth but i am still surprised by the maturity shown by several young members of this forum
(i am though deeply dissapointed & disheartened from the behaviour of some older and "wise" ones)
As long as they have the blood of the ancient line of Gondor all will follow them.
Seriously though, age doesn't matter - only attitude and ability here.
I voted Yes for sure, if the modder is not a thousand years elf, I quit the mod, take a mace and crush my pc.
Russian Gondor...
When will you learn?
1. We don't know the age of modders
2. We don't care...
3. We know your age, or atleast, you can't be older than 13
In before the lock...
For example JAL is younger than I am but I don't question his authority because he's mature and reasonable. Contrary to some other... "mod leaders"...![]()
"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear." George Orwell
Age has noting to do with it.. and well the older the better i think.
Age DOES NOT MATTER in this case. Talent is not determined, by gender, nationality, age or other things like that...
If I may I would suggest thread-lock.
Good night.
"He will die, but you will be destroyed" - Marion. From the AAR "Sword of Albion" by Theodotos I.
NO, only if the mod is crappy. Everbody can have skills and thats what matters. If the Mod Leader is not as old as you think would you quit the mod?
I would only care about the age of an modder if he`d acted inappropriate to his age.
This is the world wide web; Here you can be as old as you want.. Because of that, most people will jugde an modder by his skills.
Whether people would leave a modding team or be in awe depends on the work the leader did. If he can`t do anything and is acting very young, people will likely leave. If he is very young, but acting mature and he has an load of skills they would stay.
In an proper modteam there should be no problem to tell the other guys your age.. I mean you`d want to know a bit about the guys you work with, don`t you? Besides this can be important, sometimes.
For example certain Modteams organize an RL meeting sometimes. (If they are living in the same country, at least..) In such cases the age is very important.
Also i would leave if i`d realize that the mod leader lied to me about his age. Not because he is older/younger, but because lying should be avoided in an team.
not at all, if it does effect you then you need to do some re-thinking.
Altough i could just be saying this coz i am young, but i wouldn't care if a mod team leader was 89 so i don't see why he should care about the opposite.
And stop having a go at russian gondor, at least he creates some activity on the forum, there's always at least 100 people on here and shite all activity untill some random nob goes
"hey love your mod!
great work guys
whens 1.5 coming out?"
I know it's been said before but has any one REALLY been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
What the age of anyone has to do with a mod...
Skills [any kind] of anyone place him in a short of hierarchy.
In some occasions those who many call "mod leaders" have no skills at all...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The real factor that keeps a modding fellowship together is their relations to each other and their muttual respect.
You can not "work" with anyone if you do not respect him as a person (as far as distances allow us to know each other) and afcourse respect his efforts and devotion to the modding project/fellowship (no matter the level of his work).
In real life and in every "place" people gather, there are high skilled persons and others with out any skills at all...
What are the standards that make us all "usefull" in modding teams?
I would reverse the question...
Could you co-operate with a person in the same modding team (leader or member) that does not respect you or your efforts?![]()
//
what a surprising result of the poll?!
surely it doesn't matter how old team leaders and devs are.
it is not the age - it is the maturity of both the members of
a mod and the mod itself. and this often gets clear
when you take a closer look at mods in general. sure there are
some bad mods from time to time, but the good thing on a forum
is that users are very honest to tell you, that something is not good
and that there are always guys that will like it.
so i don't know what this conversation should bring but trying to
convince guys that think different, which is senseless when we
talk about taste matters here. so i ask myself if this one should
stay open!?

The founder of this site was ~15 at the time. Past admins have been of similar age. The only bearing age has, and it's indirect, is financial stability. Younger mod leaders are more apt to have their commitments shift due to external factors like school or work. Older folk, especially of retirement age, are more internally governed and motivated. This is to say nothing of bearing on capacity to act in a leadership role, which is irreverent of age.
I think age isnt the biggest "problem", if you like, its how mature you are. Without divulging much, I'm still in my teens and I'm leading a mod team at the minute. I know that theres people who (albeit briefly) were on my team but just didnt take things seriously. I also think that Im the youngest person on the team which is strange when you think about it![]()

No, most definitely not. Age doesn't matter to me.

Calvin and TosaInu, in a better place together, modding TW without the hassle of hardcoded limits. We miss you.
Age matters not is how you project yourself to society and other individuals that matters the most along with talent and ingenuity.
