    FRoME:Forgotten Realms of Middle Earth -Submod for TATW# Open Resource SubMod#

    all download links are provided via this new forum, please mind to ask permitions or whatever you need answered there.

    (allthough i ve allready stated that this is more or less to have this granted with no further attention)









    Forgotten Realms of Middle-Earth(FROME) submod aims to implement 4 additional factions that havent been included to the official TATW releases. Our goal is to give more variety and to offer the option of controling non-included factions either because they had been significant elements of Tolkiens LoTR or because by dividing some of them and injecting some new features-units we would accomplish to enhance TATW's gaming experience.

    Before continuing with the preview
    we would like to express a warm "THANK YOU" to all TATW's Devs
    for offering us a mod that beyond any doubt is by far one of the best mods out there
    and specialy
    King Kong ,Shredder and Bilwitt for granting us permissions to go all the way with this project


    Factions New Features:
    1) DUNLAND :
    A whole new Roster consisted from 13 totaly new recruitable units
    (+ 3 non-recruitable additional ones: Captain / Banner Carier / General)

    2) DWARVES OF ERED LUIN(aka Blue Mountains):
    Reworked dwarven roster consisted from 10 +2 non-recruitable(captains & generals) new units plus some of the
    allready made dwarven roster....
    The dwarves are now divided into 2 factions (Ered-Luin & Erebor)

    3) GALLADHRIM :
    Reworked Silvan Elven Roster consisted from 6+3 non recruitable(general, captain and a hero) new units, plus adjusted
    allready made Silvan Elven Roster

    4) MIRKWOOD:
    Reworked Silvan Elven Roster consisted from 7+2 non recrutiable(captains & generals) new unit , plus adjusted
    allready made Silvan Elven Roster.

    HOW TO ENABLE BATTLE MAP BANNERS(OPTIONAL)
    Step 1 : Finding TATW cfg file

    OPEN YOUR THIRD AGE FOLDER and find the following

    Step 2 : ALtering the banners line

    Originaly banners are given the 0 (means no ) command and by this action the banners arent loading up for battles
    ...Once u turn this into 1 the banners will show up....Acting vice versa will re-deactivate it

    Step 3: Watching your banners in game

    The banners are enabled in the following picture....
    the generic banner carrier to the left of the unit is a part of every unit and its not affected by the the above procedure....but the banners shown in the middle are....





    STEAM INSTALLATION GUIDE By Bela
    Please check your .cfg and .bat (maybe seeing that as MS-DOS application) files in your frome folder, and do the following:

    .cfg: right click, open with notepad and change the following lines to:

    [features]
    ;editor = true
    mod = mods/change to the name of your folder where steam has put frome (for example crusades or teutonic, etc.)


    .bat: right click, edit, and change to:


    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\name of your folder where steam has put frome (see above)\third_age.cfg (name of the .cfg file. Sorry, I don't know that by my mind and I do not have frome installed in my office PC).

    7. Edit descr_projectile.txt

    Change:

    model mods/Third_Age/data/models_missile/francisca_high.cas, 40

    to:

    model mods/Third_Age_FROME/data/models_missile/francisca_high.cas, 40

    You can now install TATW again. You will then have one install of vanilla TATW and one install of FROME, completely independent of each other. You can repeat as many times as you wish (and have drive space for ).

    • There is a strong possibiliity that Links may be temporarily down just upon release . It is an issue that we can do nothing about , since it is solely a matter of the host -site. Also Please note that it has been well known in the past that some data d/loaded from filefront were delivered corrupted. If during unpacking you get a message "about corrupted files" then you have to re-d/load the folder/installer.

    You did an superb job.

    Your units look really, really good and it`s astonishing how good you managed to separate the two dwarven factions.

    Though, i`d love to see some Dunlendings with Isengard plate Armour.

    I assume they used blue colour because of the name - Ered Luin = Blue Mountains.

    Very nice indeed. Will with the new Fractions, also come new settlements? I suppose Isengard will have problems when Dunland take some of their usual realm.
