    Default Skins Workshop

I started this project in hopes of bringing diversity within the chaos factions. For example, marauders and regular chaos warriors will don armor with the color of their respective faction (Khorne - Red | Nurgle - Green etc). But of course, I won't limit myself to just the chaos factions. I also plan on improving the visual quality of the other factions - those which I feel needs change, or specific units at the request of community. However, I'm not really a lore-master when it comes to the fantasy Warhammer, so I'm looking for advice to those who are.

Feel free to provide some constructive criticism. (I'm fairly new to skinning)

Also, my work is open to the public to be used and/or modified. Naturally, a simple acknowledgment would be appreciated.

    Faction Accents: http://www.filefront.com/16206897/Accents.rar/

This file will change the accents of several factions:

WARNING: When you play as a chaos faction, there are no sounds for your army on the strat map. This a limitation with the M2TW speech files. There will, however, be voices for the AI factions as well as unit voices (taunts, commands) on the battle map.

    New

*Orks - English: Better than that Arab voice, right?

*Dark Elves - East European English:

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Chaos - Mongolian: I know it sounds weird, but there are so many lines within the Mongolian speech files that are fitting for a chaos-like faction. Ex. "Your skull will be my trophy!" "Sacrifice them! Then drink their blood!" "Kill them all!!" They even regard their units as, "Warriors."

*Sylvania - East European: I always thought of them speaking like this.

*All Empire factions - German: What other accent refers to their leader as the "Emperor?"

Just extract the text file into your data folder. Make a backup of your original file. Next, remove event.dat and event.idx from your sounds folder. You don't have to delete them, just simply relocate them somewhere else. The next time you run the mod, it will rebuild the sound files using the information within descr_sounds_accents.txt.

    Credits to:
    • The CoW team for granting me permission to release these skins
    • Alterart for his amazing UIs and his re-texture idea
    • The community for their support and encouragements
    • Those I forgot to mention (can't remember all of your names )

    Installation instructions:
Simply unpack the unit_models folder into your:
    C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data

    DOWNLOAD
    Last Updated: January 8, 2011

This battle_models.modeldb file will make my skinpacks compatible with the CoW 1.41.

Be sure to re-download it with each new skin-pack I release.

Just extract it to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Call_of_Warhammer\data\unit_models

    I see.

I'll just stick with the white for now.

Awesome work, the only thing I noticed is some of the soldiers still have a sickly yellow emblem on their armor, but other than that they look great.
Btw about you reskinning Chaos marauders, if you check the New Loading Screens mod I have a picture in there of Nurgle marauders, maybe you could use it for a reference.

I'm glad you're taking on the job of re-skinning Chaos, as it was a bit difficult to distinguish them all apart, and I like this hue much more.

    Good work.

Those skins all look pretty good, though the chainmail on the dismounted Khorne Knight's waist looks a little weird but that might just be the picture.

Something you might think about doing is changing the capes on the Chaos Chosen (i.e. Khorne Chosen, Tzeentch Chosen, etc.) to something less bear-pelt and more custom tailored to their God. For example, the cloak/cape for Nurgle Chosen could look like a patch of rotting skin that they tore off of a victim, whereas Tzeentch or Slaanesh-devoted Chosen might have more of a tailored silk-cloak look with symbols of their God on it. Khorne Chosen could pretty much do with anything red, but I think the bear pelt on their back right now looks a bit weird.

I didn't really touch the chainmail.
But now that I think about it... it does look a little off.

I'll darken it a little to make it fit with the hue of the armor.

I don't have much experience with Photoshop, but I'll definitely consider it. (I'm always looking for ways to improve my skills anyway)

The cape of rotting skin sounds really interesting for Nurgle.

Great work, keep it up. +rep :

Remember the deities of Chaos when you reskin them:

Nurgle: Give them a more diseased look, rooting flesh ect...

Tzeentch: Mutation, mutation and more mutation...

Slaanesh: He is a hedonistic, masochistic, sodomistic bastard so make them look, well you know...

Hope I helped and good luck!

P.S. Did you get permission from the team?

Due my brash excitement, I forgot to ask for permission!

I'll temporarily remove the link until I receive the team's permission.

Just ask permission to edit all the skins, to save time.

Wow nice Khorne reskin, and good job changing the faction accents. Could you also give Dwarfs the Scottish accent?
