    TWC Living History Index

    2002-2003: Gamercastle & Legiontotalwar
    2003-2004: The Triumvirate Era
    2004: Age of Crandar
    200x: The Sulla Era
    2006: The Archer Era
2007-2011: Early independence with Ian, then Garb
    2011-2016: Early GED Era
    2016-Now: Late GED Era

Related/summarized reading on the wiki: History of Total War Center

    2002-2003: The Beginning
The site began as mtw.gamercastle.com, a member of a long defunct network. In 2003 the site was reborn as legiontotalwar.com, a name it would hold for several years before becoming twcenter.net

2003-2004: The Triumvirate Era & the founding the Curia
Following Paul's inactivity, site control was shared between three administrators (the Triumvirate). Together with key global moderators, this is the earliest form of the Hexagon Council. Despite ostensibly equal authority, control of the site would eventually fall on Siblesz.

    Spoiler for Images

    2004-2005: Age of Crandar
Crandar was an (in)famous moderator, prolific in his duties yet unpopular in policy.

Spoiler for Vaguely amusing image from the time

    2005: Sulla
Following Siblesz withdrawing from site management and the site becoming part of Ogre's Net, Sulla was the top administrator of the site under the new owners, Ogre's Net. Need more on the transition!

    2006: Archer
Archer was the head administrator of Total War Center after Sulla's retirement, presiding over a community in which the Curia was at its zenith and revolution was in the air...

2007-2011: Independence with Ian, then Garb
Total War center was bought by Ian (imb39) in early 2007, marking the end of Ogre's ownership and sparking a new beginning; this legacy was continued by Garbarsardar. In this time GrnEyedDvl became a figure to watch, steadily becoming a critical, then the essential technician - a reality that saw the third and (to date) final owner come to power.

    2011-2015: Early Age of GED
The "Early" age of GED are the years in which Total War Center remained a key force in the community, seeing record numbers in membership and activity; however in these same years, the growing impact of steam, the launch of Rome II and other events soon to come such as the rise of Discord began to seriously erode Total War Center's market position.

    2015-Now: Late Age of GED
The "Late" (current) age is marked by lengthier and more enduring absences of the owner in site affairs, and a time of reckoning as the site finds its place in the current Total War environment.

Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

Many threads used to be in the Staff forums, Quaestor nominations used to happen in the Curia.

I don't even remember the tBP trial ... it makes me sad that something I said in a heated moment which was blown way out of proportion by my own immaturity was later used as evidence against him in a trial.

Ah, well, I'm glad that's all in the past.

Can this be moved to the Living History forum? The stickies in the Curia main are getting a bit crowded, and it seems like a more apt place for this index.

Ironically I think the original site layout is almost more accessible than our current frontpage, for all its styling beauty.
