    I can't believe!!! I was waiting for this preview more than other ones! Amazing! Will this preview include catafracts? I still can't believe that sassanids will return

    Once you asked for some roman units. I hope you noticed our new preview about the nika riots. It's basically only the infantry-elite, but there are some eye-catcher for you.

    Yes, I saw those. Very nice indeed. I look forward to this mod a great deal. I have to say, that it will surpass all late roman mods to this date.

    exactly, a number of defeats - and a decline of its power - was finally stopped by Khosrau I, due to his leadership and his famous reforms.

    Khosrau I reigned from 531 to 579
    Khosrau II reigning from 590 to 628

    Not exactly true.
    The Royal house of Sassan never possessed an absolute supreme power. They had to do a very delicate balance between the Royal house (the Parsig) and the Great noble agnatic Clans of Parthian origin (the so-called Pahlav). In that the Sassanian Empire was more a confederacy than a true central-governed realm.

    Khosrau I.`s reform probably triggered the doom of the Sassanians because they started an increasing level of bloody conflict between the Parsig and Pahlav (for example the devastating rebellion of Bahram Chobin).

    There is a very interesting book about that, giving deep insights into that matter:

    Decline and Fall of the Sasanian Empire: The Sasanian-Parthian Confederacy and the Arab Conquest of Iran by Parvaneh Pourshariati.
