This is not really DLV related, more a general question, but try this.
Open medieval2.preference.cfg (from M2TW install folder) and change
auto_save = 1
to
auto_save = 0
Save the file and try
No guarantee it works, never tried it myself.

Yes you are right, this is not DLV related, I apologise but I couldn' t find an answer in the forum so far. Thanks for the help!!!

Open it with notepad, just right-click it and select 'open with' then 'choose program', you'll find notepad in the list. That's the XP way anyway
You might want to check the file properties to see if it is set to 'read-only', untick it if it is, and you're ready to edit it
