I just started playing the campaign and within five turns I encountered a serious threat. While Karl Franz was away with his army fighting Chaos, two full stacks of Greenskins took advantage of the situation and invaded Reikland from the south, attacking the undermanned city of Grunburg. They led a two pronged assault and each of their armies had siege towers and battering rams. Luckily (or not so lucky as it turns out), a nearby allied army came to my aid. They failed miserably and my men were forced to hold the city center for nearly the entirety of the battle. Here are the results:
Some of the demolished allied army that did nothing to blunt the northern attack
My men fight off a Black Orc charge, this particular group of Orcs are only a few of the many who were slaughtered or routed
Tons of dead Greenskins but only a drop in the bucket compared to their remaining horde
The men stand ready as the Greenskins make their final push for the town square
Although they fought bravely and killed many enemies they eventually fell. My remaining unit was able to escape back to Altdorf. Look at those Orcs laughing over the death and destruction...Karl Franz is going to be smashing some green heads soon.
