Awesome But I'm not sure I like the fact that it starts in 217BC - This means no Epirotes right?

I would presume 'non-Roman' so it's either Italian or Latin or simply one of the many Roman allies in Italy.

A lot of mods have started around 270BC with Phyrrus in southern Italy. The main thing with 217BC is that Hannibal is in northern Italy.

The other major event for the start date is the battle of Raphia between the Seleucids and Ptolemaics.

    RSII........

You really don't need to know that amount of information do you? Just wait for the mod to be released.

This was unexpected! AAAAWESOME! Have a very merry (and restful) Christmas! And get back to work on boxing day, or else you will be vaporized.

    northern Italy
Northern Italy, all set up for Lake Trasimene.

Allied means initially Italian allies. Roman units will have a more limited AOR than allies (which will become available in non-Italian areas). If you read some history, you'll see that there were Italian (non-Roman) versions of the Roman units (triarii, etc, etc), and these made up about half the force numerically at battles like Cannae and so on. The Alae ("wings" - and where we get the word "ally") were made up of approximately 5000 infantry subdivied into 10 cohorts, comprising maniples of infantry and supporting cavalry.

In terms of gameplay, the process of Romanisation of occupied settlements will take a little while, and many places will only ever be able to recruit the allied units (which will have slightly lower morale - they're not fighting for their own country! - and slightly lower defence skill) before the Marian reforms occur.

Making both of those campaigns much more interesting!

Will be battle of Rafia in campaign script? I mean so if Iīll play for ptolemy, if there will be at the beginning of campaign this event ...?

There's always the option to play these battles. You can choose to march your Romans into the Trasimene ambush or choose to fight the battle of Raphia, but if you really tried and wanted to, I'm pretty sure you can avoid them.
