One of the worse depictions of the battle of Poltava i've ever seen. Filled with russian patriotism and other historically inaccurate events. The swedes were outnumbered and beaten by flanking russian troops. Not by any kind of russian patriotismpr superiority. And more, the swedes were greatly better troops than the russian. Unfortunately the cavalry didnt arrive in time. Lucky russians

It is a rather rare occasion that a movie is produced that depicts a great national struggle without a hint of patriotism involved...but then again i suppose the victor can depict the fight any way they see fit for surely it is rare that those involved feel they need to give the vanquished their just and deserved credit..even though i think that such is in order,to respect all sides in the struggle and their endeavors therin..about subtitles,I have been trying to find a subtitled version of this move for ages now to no avail

indeed true. but unless your a fifth century roman, It's the victor who writes history. that is essentialy the case here. well, I'm also looking forward to the subtitle.

very well. just, when you do the French infantry and grenadiers (guards don't count in this), do NOT give them turnbacks (the part on the botton of their coats. contrary to many of these depictions, most French soldier wore their coats without them. the spanish army wore the same, only whiter, and the hade permanent tunbacks with heartshaped fasteners.

    otherwise, your good to go.

I only mentioned the line infantry-and these native french line infantry (the boys in oyster grey) all had their turnbacks undone most of the time (so they looked like funny versions of a labcoat). the foreign (swiss, Irish, Italian, German,) were the ones with turnbacks always worn. same applies to royal guard(they had turnbacks all the time). I recall that the grenadiers du france had none though, since they were a french line regiment with the number 41(inspite of looking like royals) .
and please, don't tell someone who specializes in SYW uniforms the obvious-kinda mean really..
