Default The sticking power of Spit!

    Ok.

Since i`ve had a few requests for a multiplayer game, i finally found the time (and inclination) to reintstall ETW. I even installed the campaign Multiplayer thing. however, I couldn`t get any takers there, so i decided to have a one off or two single battles go.

Well, now i am reminded why i don`t like playing Online again. My first evening of playing single battles and only in one game did nobody not quit halfway through the battle.

I aways stay until the end. But whoever I fight or stay with (if more than 1 per side) always quits. And it`s not even that we`ve lost. They quit if it even SMELLS like failure. Of course, with them quitting in a 2v2 or 4v4 guarantees that we WILL lose. i`m really tired of being left alone trying to fight off the enemy. Often these quitters are the ones with the biggest mouths too- `Humble warrior, do this. humble warrior do that!`

I notice most of the stayers tend to be the labelled guys with some funny clan name, but most everyone else are quitters.

I`m sick of it already. Even the Ai`s better than this.
A plea to CA: Please give us NON-STEAM OPTIONS such as with GOG.COM`s Alan Wake and Witcher 2, etc. Even allow a system such that Mount and Blade Uses. Many of us will pay extra for a Steam-free version of RTW2.
The use of STEAM-ONLY by CA is ethically wrong because:
    1. It does not need to be forced. It could be optional as other games have proven.
    2. It discriminates between internet users and non-users or those who simply do not want it.
    3. The `advantages` are only advantages in a very small and superficial manner. They do not counter the disadvantages.
    4. It suits the company way more than the user. We are simply told it`s better for us
Finally,I shall not give CA|SEGA my money for RTW2 while it forces Steam on me. They have given us no good reason why it must be so. Basically they don`t care.

The quitters army should be placed under AI control, or possibly under shared control of the team, like in Warcraft 3.

Never play ranked games and try to find some decent players to play with you when you go online, you can add me if you ever want a game.

This time I had a guy quit on me just when I had surprised him and taken out his artillery. I asked him why and he gave me some weird reason I didn`t understand. We started again and he of course changed his moves and won. I can`t help feeling that the multiplayer is filled with quitters, cheaters and people who so hate the prosepect of losing they will do anything to avoid it.

I have myself lost 10 battles fairly so far without quitting, trying to play fairly, but i`m not impressed with Online at all. Guess I have to find online `friends`. Or go back Offline which I`m about 2 seconds away from doing. Now I know why I prefer the sanity of Offline.

Cant really expect much else from the internet, but offline is always a good choice, especially with the new darthmod.

Yea, I`ll install darthmod, I`ve been meaning to try it.

As this is a discussion about multiplayer battles I've moved it to the Multiplayer Section.

How about moving it to the 'Multiplayer Complaints Thread' sticky too? Or maybe even merging it with THIS thread since it's almost the exact same thing (only that thread has a title that actually relates to the content of the post , sorry, nonsensical thread titles are a bit of a pet peeve of mine).

To the OP, I suggest you play 1v1s (unranked) when playing alone. While playing those 1v1s, you'll often find players you can form a rapport with. You can then add them to your friend's lists and then invite them into larger games as a teammate. Of course, this doesn't solve the problem of quitters on the enemy side. The ultimate solution is to join a clan and play other clans, or simply gather enough friends to fill an entire game with them.

Find someone who's in a good clan if you want mp battles add [CSA, PRB] General Sherman if you want to as well. And I know sometimes its comp issues, because when etw crashes for me (as it has a y tendency to do) it says that the person dropped. Sadly, in your case it probably isn't crashing : (

Well, if you want to play online just find a few good clans and add their leaders to your friends lists, I have enough clan leaders on my list where I can usually play with mature and elite players, very few of them ever quit.

I`ll see. I did not want to get bogged down in a Clan, but i`ll have a look.

I really do find that there is very little honour among Online Players in Empires for all their talk. All the hoopla and jumping up and down for multiplayer like it`s wonderful, yet it`s way overrated. I forgive CA`s crap BAI because it at least doesn`t quit on me when it seems like it`s losing. I must be playing against children and sore losers.

Online Players suxx and blows (except maybe clan which I haven`t tried yet).

Ranked games are full of this type of thing and to be honest I don't see any point at all in playing them. What's rank even for? What's it meant to mean? Will it get you laid? If you can't play a game for the fun of it without needing rank or stat buffs or anything like that why even play it?
