i am not sure, but could the starting date effect the problem he had? i mean that the game has some specific events to happen in specific dates so it might did the damage.

As far as I know they just go by turns or dates [not sure there], so they either show up or they don’t, depending on the timeframe.

Yea, I believe it goes by turns aswell. I've always modded the timeframe in other mods and never gave me problems.

But the game is still CTD'ing. Really too bad since I'm dying to play more, lol! The campaign is just too much fun

that’s a shame, so you’ve tried moving everything around and none of your armies are besieging a settlement, and you get no error message.

I am at a loss to know how to help mate, if you try another faction I would suggest making a save every 10turns, that way you can go back to an earlier save.

Upload your last save file and I will find out how to check them, some teams can find errors this way.

hj, i just download it today, i followed exactly the note and have no problem. but when i go to the battle i got a CTD. please help me!!!!
the campaign is ok.

Did you get an error message? If so please press ‘prt scr’ when it appears and save the image using an image editor ~ or type what it says exactly.

Tell us what factions and units were involved in the battle.

Ensure you don’t have any other mods that overwrite vanilla game files, that will cause ctd for sure.

Just installed the mod and at startup screen i get error message "failed to open sound database"??? any ideas what this is? thanks

We havent done anything to sounds, so its not a problem with our mod. Make sure you have vanilla sounds in your vanilla installation. Was that the entire message ~ we need all info, path names etc?

That was all the error i got what else do you need to help with error?

yeap, it have no error message. first, i play custom battle and it got CTD when the battle begin 3-4 second. and then i play campaign, i play as sparta and have a first battle with the rebel. when the battle begin it still got CTD. i installed the fresh game and the mod but CTD still happen.

I"m afraid I also experienced a CTD while playing Macedonia. It happened as I was trying to lay siege to Athens.

Well I am a bit lost with this one, like I say we didn’t do anything to the sound files.

Check for fresh install ~ make sure no unmodfoldered mods have been installed e.g. rs.

We run the mod many times, I have played as Sparta myself with no error. I can only think that it is installed incorrectly, try turning off your UAC in control panel [you can turn it on again after install] then install the game. This is a vista problem where the mod isn’t installed properly. it’s a good idea to copy your entire installation to your documents or anywhere outside of program files.

If it is a problem with a unit you would get an error message! Try auto resolving or move your army away and attack the city from a different angle ~ it could be a slight glitch with the map. I got the same thing when attacking Corinth, but I moved the army and it was fine.

i try to play custom battle again and when i choose 1-3 unit, i play the battle very well. but then i choose more than 4 unit, when i press "start" it got CTD. and the campaign is still ok. i play as athen and have some battle with 3-4 unit. it done well. but when sparta with a large unit attack me, the CTD happen

Ok i am gonna do a fresh install, so do i need the Patch's 1.3,1.5 & 1.6?? or do i just use 1.6? i am not gonna bother with installing BI

you need to patch the RTW to version 1,5 if it is not already. if you press the option choice up on the right it will show the version you have installed. if you have the gold edition of the game it is already 1,5 version and you are fine.perhaps the installer has a problem and you face the crashes to desktop. i would suggest to use the zipped file of the mod. check also if you have any other non mod foldered mods like roma surrectum for instance. a good idea would be when you install Rome TW to copy it to another place as well to install a mod like RS while in the other folder have mod foldered mods like ours.

Guys i am still having problems installing just the RTW Vanilla, as soon as game is installed i get CTD!!! i already have two versions one in C drive and one in D drive. When i do a fresh install and direct it to install to my E or F drive the game just CTD's!!! (black screen and CTD)?? any ideas whats going on?

you dont need to 'install' it again, just copy the entire folder and paste it somewhere else. then all you need to do is aim the shortcut at it. right click on the rome exe and send to desctop this will enable you to run rtw. then just add the part of the sparta shortcut that isnt already in the target line. i say how to do this on the release thread.

maybe windows doesnt like running the game from other partitions, keep it on the C drive.

so the game runs, you play a battle ~ or is it a specific battle? then it ctd's.

try a custom battle

you did try moving the army?

the battle is against a city?

what do you mean with RTRPE?
rome total realism platinum edition? if that is what you meant, maybe that mod is not mod foldered and that is why you have the CTD can you also give us more details in case i did not understand well?
