CTD Hunting - BC 2.02 Script Update

hi all,
I just downloaded BC

in order, I installed Bc 2.0 then the 2.02 patch. The start of MTW2 is exactly the same as the regular game, thats my first comment (and yes, the desktop shortcut points to bc_lauch.bat) and second, I have tried over and over to Dl the script campaign text but each files downloaded was corrupt... . So I have no idea even if the short cut points to BC if I will be playing BC or vanilla version ( I have never played vanilla, I went straight to SS 6.2 )

Ok, all is dowloaded right as I said earlier, BC 2.0 and then BC 2.02 patch but it starts the vanilla game. I even started the BC mod from the sega directory and clicked on the bc launch file but same result. I have SS 6.2 installed and 100 years war installed as well and if I lauch from the sega folder (or from the desktop short cuts) they work, but BC, nothing, it takes me to the vanilla game

I have been looking forward to try BC, please help up

And again, the download for the campan script does not Dl correctly, it still says file corrupted

Well things dont seem to be going in my favor with BC XD. 1) i get the unspecified error CTD,2) cannot create the log files even though i edited the cfgs. 3) this script didnt work . 40 i need some help! i have a post, please respond to it if you think you can help!

Do you have a fixed script for BC 1.05?

No, there's no fixed script for 1.05. If there have been one, it would be released.

Anyway, CTDs weren't such a problem in 1.05, iirc, so it doesn't need a script fix.

Oh. But in my 1.05 campaign, it always froze in between turns around 1220.

Hi, i dont know if this belongs here. but, alot of the units say "unlocalised placement text" as well some buldings. (majort for the indian fractions)

after replaced campaign script everything works very well. I was playing as Ere and easily have reached year 1230 without even one ctd experienced. Great work GrandViz and BC team. Looking forward for even better BC 3.0

Initially i had a M2+kingdoms+1.05 install and installed BC. I had several CTD after:
- clicking on an army
- clicking on a diplomat
- clicking on a city
- going back to campaign map after a battle

i tried out several factions for a few turns and the results were the same.

Using Vista 64. CD-boxed version of M2.

I did a fresh and clean install of M2, patched 1.2 then 1.3 then:
- installed Broken Crescent 2.02
- remplaced campaign script
- removed map.rw

I still get the same kind of CTD

The log files shows nothing except an unspecified error occured (which isnt really helpful).

If anyone has a clue...

When i play Broken crescent. On the map i can go on forever. However if i select various people (ie Makurian generals, diplomats, merchants, kypchaks, georgian, etc.) i get a CTD
i have microsoft windows.
my log empties everytime
and my medieval 2 is german
but my kingdoms and BC mod is english

When you install BC 2.02 you need to select non-English version of the mod. I suppose you selected English version - and thus CTD.

In that case I suggest reinstalling the mod and select non-English version of BC 2.02 - installer will ask you which one you like to use.

Or we could dig up that time saving ages old accents fix and provide it.


I suppose it's still compatible, or is the official workaround better? I dunno. :S

The "fix" is obsolete, it was made for 1.0 version, so most likely it won't work for 2.02.

That's why BC 2 team provided that installation feature, which is not a workaround. One should read really carefully what options are available during installation of the mod. It just can't be simpler.

I have several CTD. I have installed BC 2.02 for the german version of MTW2 1.3 on winXP. But the BC installation file does not support non-english versions of MTW2. I can not find this option in the installation menu

The CTD occur for example EVERYTIME when i click on a georgian unit/army.

I assure you, the option is there, I have just checked it.

Do you use Sean Cappone's installer? When did you downloaded the mod?

I'm quite sure your problem relates to incompatibility of sound files.

try the universal solution to this problems, try to install it not on the med2 folder but on the desktop. then move it manually into the med2 folder and let's check if it works in this way.

ROMAN CTD

CTD is repeatable.
Year turn.
Operating system: Windows XP.
Game language: English.
Year: 1210
Faction: Romans.
Faction causing issue: Abbasids.
Log file: N/A

After pressing the "end turn" button, screen goes black, game shuts down.
Nothing to do except pressing the "enter" key. Then it all goes away and you return to desktop.
