    Default Swagger's Sky Mod

    hey guys

    i've been editing the sky textures for my mod L'Outremer (sign), but i thought i could share my work with you, and maybe even release it apart from my mod

    i tried to stick with realistic ones


    Disclaimer:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 


    Free to use only if PM is sent with the details of the mod you want to use at (ONLY PM'S, DONT POST HERE FOR APPROVAL)



    Installation:

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    extract the files (it's a file called globallightning.7z with a folder with the same name inside)

    copy-paste the folder inside your X/data folder

    and overwrite (make backup), or just paste it if there's no previous folder

    (i haven't resized or edited the screenshots, so these are true ones got in-game)

    the game engine is a real mess up, it seems it either lightens or darkens the textures to unwanted lightning effects..
    Clear Sky:

    i know the sky is a bit too light blue, but remember this was made for my crusader mod, and it fits accordingly to the region..

    it may require a few changes though (specially the lightning)




    Heavy Clouds

    This pic has a 'problem' with the lightings (see left) becouse i tried to give the effect of sun rays between the clouds, but didn't end up that well, i'll fix that

    Very very good, seems to add a lot of immersion to the battlefield, I specially like the stormy/rainy ones

    thank you all, this is still very wip (i only started this last evening), so these are just are just the 1st versions, wich i'll still edit


    i'll work on this for 1 more week and then i think they'll be ready


    im not yet happy with the clear skies becouse it still looks a bit too much colourful, such as this:

    anyway, i've messed around with the files as i edited them and tested them and i saw the machine acted accordingly to the file


    for example, in vanilla (using the same settings, like Sunset-Stormy) the sky is orange (and i mean much orange) and the water reflections are also orange

    but when i edited them, the water reflections changed accordingly (to a more blueish tonality)


    then there's also wierd thing

    in Very Foggy settings, in vanilla there's alot of fog, but after they're edited, the fog gets alot less

    That's fantastiuc, swagger! Do you have any tutorial links I can follow? It doesn't look "that" hard (famous last words?).
