Wow.. GIMP is complicated. I do not understand a thing. Very well, will go through the GIMP Basics this weekend, It cannot be so hard can it?

It's less complicated as PS normally

You can use the print-screen button and paste it into a new image and then save it. Or I assume you could use a program like fraps.

There I can download the G'MIG which I need in lesson 2. But am I installing it correctly?
When it was downloaded, I extracted the files to scripts folder. (like in FX Foundary)
But in Gimp. There is no G'mig in filters...

GreycStoration and G'mic should be placed here:
ProgramFiles/Gimp/lib/gimp/2.0/plugins This maybe vary a bit from version to version. As long as you'll export it to a folder named plugins your good

okay i have GreyCstoration in my plugins folder, and i've also tried copying the contents and putting them directly in the plugins folder, but i still don't get a strengthen option under filters

EDIT; never mind, GIMP has decided to put it under filters/enhance/grey/GreyCstoration, hence why i couldn't find it

Well it's in the menu where you have the sharpen option.. But in Dutch the submenu is called versterken and strenghten is the logical translation of that so my bad

cause i don't know how without changing the images as well

Btw, I'm having a problem with the freakin' text. I do exactly as told, but I keep ending up with messed up results like this one :

yeah, i had this annoying problem, and couldn't figure it out, where i was going wrong was the two shades of grey that i was using were to dark, so try again with a grey thats almost white and a slightly darker one

LOL Mr_B... lesson 4 and the Final are my lesson.. so don't get too cheaky mate..

yeah Raglan has it right a light grey and a medium grey works best.

As well refer to step #8 4th line above the image.. starting with "Duplicate rusty text layer"

I'm getting the feeling that I don't have all the filters, but I'm sure that I downloaded everything that was required.
In lesson 2 your supposed to go to Filters > Strenghten > GREYCstoration, what filterpack is it part of?

i had this one, where i found it was filters/enhance/GREYCstoration

it then brings up a window from which you can follow the instructions
