Default Which Proggy to use for Sound-Editing

Hiya and ... happy Christmas days

I have allready often edited existing sounds etc. with Audacity and atm i am trying to modify the Drummer Sounds (the drum Roll) but the editing does not work in-game. At the moment i am pretty sure this is due to the wave format that Audacity exports, so here is the question:

What exact Bitrate etc. do the Musicians sounds need ?
And which Program is suggested to be used ?

    Thanks so far !

All the sounds are in mp3 format, so wav files won't work. You can use any mp3 editing software you like, no limitations there. Bitrate varies from 128 till 320. 128bit is the minimum.
