Default Haiku and other Christmas poetry (add your own poems to the thread)

The Sciptorium sponsors the annual writing contest. Unless your poem is of sufficient length, you will not be able to submit it. For those who fancy to post a poem, this is a good spot. Post the ones you have written (original work please), it is as good as a contest! All poetic forms are acceptable.

If you need to know what a haiku is:

    Haiku defined
Haiku is a poetic form and a type of poetry from the Japanese culture. Haiku combines form, content, and language in a meaningful, yet compact form. Haiku poets, which you will soon be, write about everyday things. Many themes include nature, feelings, or experiences. Usually they use simple words and grammar. The most common form for Haiku is three short lines. The first line usually contains five (5) syllables, the second line seven (7) syllables, and the third line contains five (5) syllables. Haiku doesn't rhyme. A Haiku must "paint" a mental image in the reader's mind. This is the challenge of Haiku - to put the poem's meaning and imagery in the reader's mind in ONLY 17 syllables over just three (3) lines of poetry! Check out some Haiku at Haiku Salon (see Lesson 2 for the link).

To start off the thread, I will post a haiku for the season:

    Lights

    White light icicles,
    Red lights on the evergreens,
    Christmas lights glowing.

    Ok then.
    Here's an improvised haiku:

    Disappointment on Christmas Day

    Jumping out of bed
Joy running down the stairs where
    An empty tree waits

    Shoppers run in fear
    Santa has come for revenge
    None escape his wrath

    Rudolph takes no more
    His shots are quite accurate
    their reindeer games

    Santa spies on you
    He know when you're showering
    He sees you naked
I thought about writing something clever, but then I remembered I'm not clever enough.

    Happy birthday God
You were born in hay and stuff
    PS3 for me

    Christmas carols sung
    Family gathers for fun
    Grandma drunk on rum

    Merry Christmas world
well, a quarter of the world
    the rest are heathens

    Lungs chapping, burning
    Snow nipping, biting at skin
    All our hearts are warm

    Snow glistens from trees
    Icing on a wintry cake
    Christmas time is here

Away up north, his workers slave
    Deep within that snowy cave
He checks his list, and checks once again
To make sure all have something to open
    He prepares his majestic sleigh
    In preparation for Christmas Day
    But what they don't tell
    Is that he's not swell
    No, Santa you see
Is not like you or me
    See, unless you're a creeper
    Or even a peeper
    Santa's ways are quite wrong
    For he love child dong
    If he had his way
    All boys would be gay
    They'd lay in bed
    And give lots of head
    But that's not to be
So he gives gift near the tree
    And watches his elves
    Making toys and shelves
    And he spies
    And he cries
For the love he'll never receive.
I thought about writing something clever, but then I remembered I'm not clever enough.

    I try.

    It's Christmas time again
    Santa comes with snow
    And candy canes
    Children play with new baseballs
All are exposed to snow lights
    Bernie wanted a bazooka
    He got a blizzard
So he stayed inside and chewed bubble gum
    Ate candy and cocoa puffs
    Everyone loves a sleigh ride
    They hitch up the reindeer
And laugh as they slip on ice
    They throw snowballs
    And eat turkey

    It's snowing outside
My car is covered in snow
    It's a long walk home
