Default the world is a great big onion.

the world is a great big onion.

I will have to give a brief description of energy before I can get to what is meant here, essentially though, reality is layered with the material and immaterial interwoven in a grand matrix.

lets begin with momentum and potential energy. Its been a while since I read about dimensions, but if I remember correctly momentum is considered as a dimension. I have contrasted it with potential energy for a reason, now this is a very basic understanding so bare with me…

If I wind back a crossbow and lock it ready to fire, there is an amount of ‘potential energy’ waiting to be released as soon as I pull the trigger. Now energy as a single entity [as all elements are transferable and it is conserved etc], so lets imagine it as like an elastic band primarily relaxed, or indeed a sheet of elastic and all energy interactions act upon that.

The potential energy of the crossbow may be thought of as like a portion of that elastic being stretched and held, as energy is conserved that is pulling on the whole, which is trying to get back to its relaxed state. So it is not potential as such but simply a change in the relationship of the energy, we can visualise that as like you poked your finger into the elastic, this is pulling on the whole sheet of elastic and until we remove our finger it is trying to get back to its former state. momentum is pretty much the same thing; a car accelerates then brakes and its momentum is equal to the amount it is pulling on the elastic, just as the potential in the crossbow is.

The two kinds of energy are simply different relationships of objects acting upon energy, so I don’t see how we can call momentum a dimension, it is simply a force. When objects like planets move around in space they too affect the elastic sheet of energy, and we call that gravity. When particles act upon energy we call it strong and weak nuclear forces etc, etc. we can visualise how planets and stars effect ’space-time’ [the sheet] as if we dropped a heavy large ball bearing on the sheet of elastic and the whole thing bends to its shape.

This is a short description of energy as a single thing being acted upon, there aren’t really many kinds of energy, there are just many kinds of things acting upon it.

Alongside this are the immaterial aspects, I am only going to try to outline the meaning here in a basic way, simplicity is key. we will first take qualia as an extra layer of reality, in metaphysics these are the essential qualities of things. Take for example colour, it is not present in the electromagnetic spectrum which is simply the sheet of energy acting as different wavelengths, light as we know can be a wave particle or field ~ as can electricity, so physics in short, shows how the sheet of energy changes. time is simply those changes occurring upon the sheet, each thing has its own time and this is relativity, yet the sheet is always there as a universal moment.

Now if you put some objects into a vacuum, they are all sucked together no matter how different they are, I use this analogy to portray the intimacy between the material [energy] and the immaterial [qualia and information]. Dimensions are yet another level, these determine the shape of the sheet of elastic, and the degree to which changes upon it may occur [the three dimensions and time is the rate of said change]. Another level is consciousness, I presume it has no effect until it is made interactive through a given medium like a human brain, though we cannot say what makes the whole thing work, what the engine is! It could be that energy expands as much as it can then is pulled back into its original shape, then that this is then rinsed and repeated ~ and that act is the engine of existence.

So if we put it all together we have layers of dimension, energy, qualia, ideas/info and consciousness. Each are intimate with one another [a most important and profound note] so for example, when we see a red object, light is giving us the wavelengths which tell our minds what colour it is, our minds then turn this into information and form the qualia that we call redness [red light]. The world we live in and experience is not purely physical, but is a multi layered entity, the immaterial aspects are not just in our minds they exist but are not physical.

Please add what you can to this!

can you write your thesis in bold before I read this...otherwise it confuses me
"Therefore I am not in favour of raising any dogmatic banner. On the contrary, we must try to help the dogmatists to clarify their propositions for themselves. Thus, communism, in particular, is a dogmatic abstraction; in which connection, however, I am not thinking of some imaginary and possible communism, but actually existing communism as taught by Cabet, Dézamy, Weitling, etc. This communism is itself only a special expression of the humanistic principle, an expression which is still infected by its antithesis – the private system. Hence the abolition of private property and communism are by no means identical, and it is not accidental but inevitable that communism has seen other socialist doctrines – such as those of Fourier, Proudhon, etc. – arising to confront it because it is itself only a special, one-sided realisation of the socialist principle."

Yea sorry about that, I cant write too much on an internet forum, but I thought it somewhat self explanatory. perhaps read it again section by section.
