Mughals invaded Iceland while I was playing as Denmark. Camels and everything! I suppose their cunning plan was to horn in on the hefty tax income that Iceland produces.
Three words:
UNSTOPPABLE CHEROKEE LEGIONS.
The Cherokee conquered all but one of the 13 Colonies regions and fielded massive armies which eventually destroyed my British expeditionary force through sheer attrition. I destroyed one full stack, rested/refit and then landed my army next to their 'capital' in Maryland, only to be immediately attacked by another full stack. The next turn, they threw yet ANOTHER full stack at me, then ANOTHER as I attempted to withdraw to the coast...

Heh, a tiny part of me is tempted to go download a mod and use Inuits to conquer England. Eskimo english, its so crazy it might just work!

Pirates took an outdated French two-decker once, and the occasional frigate. But pirates taking out multiple Third Rates or better (which happens quite often in-game) is completely a-historical. 99% of pirates would run from a single Sixth Rate. But it is fun. Pirates are the only power to consistently give me a challenge in naval warfare.
Very similar thing happened to me. I was playing as Sweden and attacked Russia, took territory all the way to Moscow with basically one general. Denmark 'Blitzkrieged' Stockholm, so I made peace with Russia and attacked Denmark. The great general of the Russian campaign fought the Danish. He began at 42 and finally took Copenhagen at age 74. He died on the ship over to take Iceland, which was the very last territory Denmark had. Very sentimental stuff...
Definately Marathas conquering many regions in the Americas
A entire professional british army getting raped by 6 units of indian militiamen.
Well, ETW Pirates are in huge fleets of 20 ships engaging huge fleets of European ships. In the Caribbean; the trade fleets that would sail goods back. It basically was more like 'raiding' the trade routes than engaging an actual fleet. As in the Golden Age of Piracy there was really less fleets stationed in the Caribbean to hold off the pirates.
Watching the United States spawn in 1711 to go and destroy all African regions from Egypt to Gibraltar.
A Russian Democratic republic Conquering the Americas by 1750.
The United States is at war with the Thirteen Colonies.
The Pirates conquering India, and Britain!
