They are both allowed in, although their swords are peace knotted with bronze wire.

Paul met them in the study.
"Ah! Lord Montgomery, I am glad to see you have arrived well. Though, I do not recognize the knight beside you."

"I see. His armor gave me the impression of knighthood. To business though. Now I believe you wished to broach the idea of an alliance? I am quite open to the idea, however, I feel we must carefully lay out what it may look like before we dive headlong in."

Alexander greets them at the gate,
"Ah! the VonSchwingler Rody, it is good to see your clan alive and well. Please, do come in. My grand nephew is detained right now, but he shall see you as soon as he can. May I do anything for you in the meantime?"

    George smiles

Looks like we found another family how ain't a stranger to having their members imprisoned by the crown. See, they killed my older brother and Daddy

Gehard walks up and shakes Alexanders hand

Well, were here in england for the kings coronation and waiting for the war in france to flare back up again, so we decided to stop by here and show young George here were his older brother and I fought against the royalists

Though after the war if we don't manage to wrest our old home berwick back we might come out here and serve you wilsons as knights

    Alexander smiles,

"Just like the old days eh? Well, can I give you and George a tour of the place? For memories sake? One can still see a good few scars about the place."

"Of course, follow me my good fellow."
They headed off to the battlements passing craftsmen repairing the place after the years of absence. Not only did it seem that it was being restored, but it was being made better. The craftsmen of Nottingham learned quick and loved to improve on their work. As they walked Alexander turned to young George,
"Tell me lad, what do you wish to do in your life?"

George taps his 5 foot claymore strapped to his back then says

To be a warrior, like my daddy and 'is daddy, and 'is daddy and become baron of Berwickshire, were teh von Schwinglers have lived since they came to England

Gehard looks at the construction and says

You ever here of what the germans did to stop cannonballs, I hear they pile dirt in front of their walls and plant grass on it and use it to asborb the shot like a padded doublet

    Alexander smiled at George.
"A noble calling. I wish you luck in your endeavor. I believe you shall do your father proud."
    Alexander turned to Gerhard
"An interesting idea and I can see its benefits very well now. I think we shall look into installing something of the sort. The moat might make it tricky.. but better to have some difficulty then shattered walls. I must admit, gunpowder is still quite an oddity for me. Byzantium never used it in her armies... and that is where I learned my trade."

    Gehard says

    Your a byzantine?

and anyway, gunpowder is one hell of a weapon if you understand it and use it correctly, for now its just used in sieges and my men, being medium Calvary, never used it much, thought one day it will happen that gunpowder weapons will replace or supplement the crossbow, accept it will be able to pierce armor better and require less training

I've seen a few units of gunners in the holy roman empire, now they are terribly unweildy things but by the time of Georges childrens it will be a force on the battlefield

    Alexander smiled and nodded,
"Aye, I believe you are right. Gunpowder is a fearsome thing, expensive still. God help us all if it becomes cheap..."

"True enough, times shall change. I think though for the moment, our fine longbow men shall be much more effective then this new powder. I think as well for the time being heavy lancers are still dominant on the battlefield."Alexander paused for a moment "Would you, by chance, be interested in helping diversify our cavalrymen? They are fine lancers yes, but I learned well the power of light cavalry during my time fighting Turks in Anatolia."

I would be happy to, you know train some of your men to fight differently than heavy lancers.

On my views, I dislike using bows on horseback as it takes to much training and skill and comes to dominate training, personally, I like using javlins and wearing medium armour like a brigidnie vest and a flaschion and have them riding heavy arabian horses and also give them lances

Men equiped like that I feel have the best balanace for the current time.

Also, I outfitted a unit like polished winged hussars for II. army in half plate with lances and swords, The winged hussars fit with the order of the eagle motif
