I've made a few plates for what I believe may have been the uniforms of the Almeida Cavalry and one or both the Evora and Olivenca dragoons in the 1762 campaign, based on cloth orders shown to me by D.Sebastian and confirmed by MRR. I didn't add lapels because there is almost no evidence from the tile-museums that they were worne by cavalry in metropolitan Portugal beforw 1762 (or after). Another consideration is the evidence of a possible uniform feature of redcoats for dragoons as distinct from designated "cavalry" regiments, and the fact that in 1740, the Alcantara cavalry wore matching red waistcoats and breeches - which I interpret as evidence matching colours in this respect were a feature of Portuguese cavalry uniforms.
Almeida cavalry:I based this plate on this order from 1762:
"- Almeida: 28.1 / 2 pounds of camel's hair red and 17 green".
