Can you make Portugal start as an Absolute Monarchy? Pedro II (was able to close down the Cortes (parliament) in 1697 because of the discovery of silver in Brazil. The reality is that Britain and Poland were the only Constitutional Monarchy in Europe in 1700.

I don't think so. Though I would like to be able to play as them.

Edit of above: Britain and Poland were the only constitutional-monarchies in Europe in 1700.

Descriptions of Portuguese uniforms in the War of the Spanish Succession (1700-1714) are here.

Some Portuguese uniforms from the Seven Years War I found (300 Anos de Uniformes Militares do Exército de Portugal 1660-1960) These regiments had both musketeer and grenadier variants (see descriptions of headwear below):

    Officers of above regiments:
Officers We have found no information on the uniform of the officers of this battalion. However, in other regiments there are documented evidence that the officers wore a uniform very similar to the one worn by privates with the following distinctions:

    • a gold laced tricorne
    • a thin silver lace at the collar
    • red waiscoat laced silver with white buttons and very narrow white buttonholes
    • officer stick
    • sword

After the war with Spain, on May 10 1763, the first of the two regiments of 1762 took back its original name of “Porto” while the second was supposed to be transformed into a regiment of artillery. However, on September 12 1763, the project was abandoned and this second regiment became known as the “2nd Regiment of Porto”.

The uniforms of the drummers were similar to those of the privates with the following differences:

    • white laced collar
    • white laced lapels
    • white laces on the seams, around the pockets and along the edges of the coat
    • white laces disposed in a zigzag pattern on the sleeves, on the lapels and under the pockets of the coat
    • white laced dark blue waistcoat with laces disposed in a zigzag pattern along the edges.

Some Siege of Madrid (1706) Portuguese uniforms (not by regiment). Based on this source, I think the first pic probably corresponds to the Corte Real regiment, with the fourth (yellow) one perhaps the Serpa Regiment..:

Next is the only other source I can find online for the late 18th century Portuguese regimental-uniforms (when they were blue):

As such, could you make the Portuguese naval-infantry (in sea battles) green as in the "Tercio De Armada" uniforms above, and introduce some of these skins as units? Thank you.

Thank you Ludicus, but I already have all those images. Is the last one just the General's uniform, or just line-cavalry/dragoons?
