Frequent, spontaneous crashes during load screens
I'm playing RTW 1.5 with ALX and BI, and the XGM mod version 5.9.1
system:
windows 7 64 bit
intel i7 860 processor
ati radeon 4850 card
all my drivers are up to date
I've tried using compatibility mode with windows xp sp2, it's not helping.
The crashes always occur when the loading screen is either about to start or about to end, between battles. They happen roughly once every 3 battles or so, on average.
Any ideas on how i can fix this?

Re: Frequent, spontaneous crashes during load screens
I've got similiar problem. Extremely frequent CTDs on loading screens. On game launch, campaign launch/load or after battle.
Tried it out on:
RTW BI 1.4
RTW Alex
RTW 1.6 BI
RTW RTR FOE
All the same...
System setup:
win7 64
p8600 2.4ghz
4gb ram
gf 9600
Changing video settings doesn't seem to do any difference.
Nor does setting Win XP SP3 compability nor running application as admin.
Tried reinstalling several times now.
I'm kinda determined to get it working, but I'm running low on ideas.
Any help, please?

Re: Frequent, spontaneous crashes during load screens
Have you got the -show_err switch on the shortcut target?
Did the vanilla RTW work OK? So, has this only happened after you installed the mod?
Is your anti-virus interfering in any way?
What have you done with UAC and where did you install your game to (running as an administrator does not matter if UAC is on).

Yes, I have -show_err, it gives nothing.
Tried Vanilla, no problems at all. Works like a charm.
All anti-virus is doing (Panda Global 2010 for win7) is reminding me to activate it. It did not interfare with Vanilla. After turning it off BI crashed while loading campaign so...no, it's not anti-virus.
UAC is on never notify. Game is installed on D drive, in my games folder.
I wonder what's the problem...

Shall I send You any more info?
I'm giving RTR 6 a shot now, even though I played it several times already, but...damn, after FOE it looks like an Arcade game
