Thread: Does CA monitor this forum

Default Does CA monitor this forum

Just wondering if CA read thesr posts-or are we all ****ing into the wind.

I hope so, but judging by ETW and it`s upgrades I have my doubts.

Because if they are not reading these posts then all the "Wouldn`t it be great if......" posts are a waste of time.

There are at least some CA employees that read the TW forums, yes. I cant say if they do it regularly or not though. As for them picking up ideas from this forum, i doubt it. On the offchance they do, i have a great suggestion, how about making a game with features that works :p

well they don't really post on the forum b/c they will be attacked viciously. only lusted can post without triggering a barrage of rage, and even he takes a fair bit of flack despite his past relationship with the community. as for if they read the forum? yes they do.

i wonder if CA talked to the TWC site owners after the release of ETW and communicated to them that they wanted TWC to do whatever they deem reasonable and appropriate to discourage and minimize/hide criticism?

I think CA is too busy with improving ETW and developing NTW to address the community on this board.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

They do read them. They just ignore anything they don`t like the sound of, no matter how right it might be.

They like posting in cheat threads and skinning faces threads, but `Are you going to fix BAI` and `make good sieges` threads are a big no no.

Lusted doesn't work on BAI or siege AI. He doesn't comment on them because he's not qualified to. He's not a skinner either, but he knows his history, so he knows what he's talking about there.

    Improving ETW? I'd rephrase that.

Jack does post here, but only as a sort of FAQ guy for upcoming releases and features. He won't address game issues or complaints because A) He doesn't want to deal with it.
    B) CA is monitoring him and they don't want him revealing some skeletons in the closet. Or C) he doesn't give a rats ass.

And he protects himself with a disclamier in his sig so everything he says means diddly squat in actual practise.

All CA staff have that disclaimer. It's typical of the "Caution - Hot Beverage!" era of litigation.

It's because anything they say here would be Off the Record unless they posted it in the official news thread on their own forums.

It's the same throughout the business world, the employees represent the company. It's the reason why employees get the sack when they post blogs/online stuff saying bad things about the company or just being naugty (Like a teacher posting pictures on Facebook of him drinking or running around drunk).

That and it's really not his responsibility on that part anyways, how can you expect a skinner to report on the progress of the AI?
