Default Could the US successfully invade Russia?

In their quest for world domination, the US sets their sights on Russia and sets off across the Pacific, preparing to hurl all their assets (but no nukes) at the Russians.

    What happens?

Gah... Not this again... First the China thread, now the Russia thread? D.B., you warmongering little...

And no. They can't. As history has told us, again and again, invading Russia is suicide.

Why is the US doing all the invading, why can't Russia invade the US?

Americans are better equipped for the weather than the Germans and the French, so there.

But we are talking about Russia, how are those countries relevant?

I believe this was referring to the failed invasions from Germany and France, but those were a long time ago.

That's what Hitler said about Napoleon.

All the Russians have to do is cut their supply lines, and they don't even have to fight. They'll just watch as the opposing army dies.

Invading Russia is absolute suicide and a very unwise thing to do.

Even if USA invaded Russia, it would take a long long time to conquer all of it, its a big land, isnt it. Then theres the weather, that wouldnt help the americans either, and I also think that Europe and China would help its neighbor.
I voted for stalemate. However, if the other nations helped Russia, it would be a crushing defeat for the US.

Depends on who is leading us. If it's Obama, we'd surrender before we'd declared war.

I think we could beat them if we just compared militaries.

If it's just the U.S on it's own invading then I can't really see it being successful.

They freeze their asses off in the artic wasteland that is Siberia, while the hearty Russian people who live there laugh as they throw molotov cocktails at the invaders... in the nude.
You cannot pick and choose what to follow from your holy books. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow the bible by the letter. One read through Leviticus, where the disabled are barred from Church attendance, and homosexuals should be the least of your worry. It's the whole book or none of it, and to follow the whole book is to be immoral.
    So it goes.

My personal opinion would be that the Americans would fail in invading Russia. They're not adapted in many ways:

    • The unbearable temperatures that are reached in Russia. America would not be allowed to invade from the east (via Europe) so they'd have to do it by the west or north. Doing this will mean an invasion on the bitter Siberian region; the coldest in Russia. Temperatures can reached -45 celsius!
    • Some Americans believe that war is like Call of Duty. No lie - it's true. They tend to have a very ficticious mind and are easily carried away by propoganda (i.e. Communist are bad. Fact - they are not. It's American propoganda which has made them believe this because they don't want to lose their 'freeland'). If the government said: jump, Americans tend to jump.
    • Russia is a country that is feared by many. Since the First World War, many countries, especially America, have always been slightly feared by the mighty Russia Federation, and one Soviet Union. With a patriotic nation like no other, the Russian people would sacrafice theirselves rather then there land (e.g. World War 2. 20 Million people died, including soldiers and civilians fighting for the Soviet Union).
    • The FIRST thing that a large majority of Americans think of is using nuclear weapons. Nuclear weapons should be the very last thing that any nation should use, as the effects are devistating. Not to mention it would also effect America!
    • Russia is cold. Very cold. One of the coldest places on Earth infact. America is VERY warm in comparison.

I'm sure that the people from California, Arizona and even Colorado may have some trouble in Russia's -30°c. If anything, Germans would be more "equipped" for the weather. Not just by the clothes they would wear but the climate they can adapt to. I'm not sure if you are aware of the conditions of Russian and German winter. Research before you post!

Europe would've aided the U.S, and China would've aided Russia? Sounds like Total War all over again!!
