    Default Giving the Mongols voices

    Hello everyone. Im a total noob when it comes to modding and I dont have enough space on my hardrive to unpack all the files.

    Basically Im taking part in a Tuetonic hotseat campaign where all the factions are playable. Problem is when playing as the Mongols they dont speak since voices for them were only recorded for when the player is playing a different nation and clicks on a Mongol unit.

    I therefore want to give them the Muslim voices when they are selected by their player but keep their Mongol voices if selected by someone else. I know this is possible as the Custom Campaign Mod has playable Mongols that are set up like this.

    So my request is can someone make this mod for me? I would be very grateful and infinitely rep them whenever I can Also taking out refrences to 'Sultan' would be an added bonus but doesnt need to be done if its too long.

    No iv read it and its different. The mongols already have the mongol accent when selected by other players. What I need them to have is the arab accent when selected by the mongol player. Currently they are mute. And as I explained I cant do this myself

    This will be a really time consuming nightmare coding of many different soundtext-files and its nearly impossible to manage it for someone, which isn't at least firm in basic-modding.
    I don't think you'll really find someone 'voluntary', which will mod this for you

    The sound files aren't for a specific faction, but for all factions. The difference for factions is the code in it. And changing this is as i said above, not so easy - unfortunately.

    The only thing i can suggest you to do, is to "fully "assign middle-eastern or east-european accents to the mongols.

    No, you've ask for add other accent type of voices to the missing mongols voices (mixing) - and i advised to completely changing their accent to an already existing one. Thats a really great difference at all!

    Well I did mention replacing their 'sound file' yet you said it wasnt easy I dont mean any mixing just changing their accent to the middle eastern one completely.

    This for me means 'mixing' voices!
    Are you still really sure u want trying to change accents? Do you know the basics of replacing/deleting and editing files with notepad on your computer? Then i could help you out a bit.

    The original teutonic campaign and the english version of kingdoms?

    If yes, then you must download the OFFICIAL RELEASE of the kingdoms soundfiles there ... http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92488
    ... and then add/replace all the teutonic (and only the teutonic) sound files to your teutonic directory with the one you've downloaded.
    Then you should report back!

    ok I did as you told me and I moved the mongols from mongolian accents to arab accents using this file descr_sounds_accents.txt. however they are still mute ingame. what must I do next noble modder?

    Now you must delete (always make a backup copy before) the events.dat and events.idx files located in ...
    X:\Games\Medieval II Total War\mods\teutonic\data\sounds
    ... and restart the game to let them recreate automaticaly.

    Then try out if this works
