TTW addon v2.0 RELEASED!!!

I would like to present to you my second version of my great addon that adds, corrects and improve a lot of things of the Troy Total War modfolder edition.

This addon was made only by me and is not soported by the TTW Team. Anyway I have tested it a lot and is as completely stable as the TTW mf ed., I have played more that hundred turns without any problem.

You need to have installed the TTW 4.5.0 - modfolder edition of Nero666. If you haven't it take it from http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=187712

v2.0 changes

-Included my Hotfix pack that corrects many minor bugs and errors of the mf edition
-Included the amazon female voices addon
-16 new regions:
.7 new island regions: Samothraki, Thasos, Zakynthos, Leucas, Skyros, Astypalaia and Aegina
.Added Dardanus near Troia
.Added Malia near Knossos
.Added Khalkis near Eretria
.Added Olympia
.Added Tiryns near Argos
.Added Korinth near Mykenon
.Added Amyklai near Sparte
.Ionian region was divided into three regions:
*Ionia Arzawa - town: Apasa (hittite Ephesus name)
*Ionia Anactoria - town: Miletos (achaean Miletus name)
*Ionia Kysos - town: Erythrai
-Changed location and Magnesia name to Smyrna (more important town)
-17 new unique buildings:
*Altis in Olympia
*Sanctuary of Phoibos Apollon in Pytho
*Palace of Buyukkale in Hattusha
*Palace of Knossos (level I,II,III,IV) in Knossos
*Palace of Phaistos in Phaistos
*Palace of Malia in Malia
*Palace of Zakros in Zakros
*Palace of Nestor in Pylos
*Citadel of Troia (level I,II,III) in Troia
*Acropolis of Mykenon in Mykenon
*Acropolis of Athenai in Athenai
*Acropolis of Tiryns in Tiryns
-New special ui pictures for all the new buildings
-Now Epic Stone Wall only in Troia
-Now walls are more expensive but their have tax bonus
-Other new bonus in some buildings
-7 new units:
.lydian elite swordmen
.amyklai guards
.troy militia archers
.troy citadel guards
.dardanus swordmen
.dardanus polearms
.mercenary ionian archers
-a new heavy ship for the "achaean invaders" and troy
-changed the stats of ships
-a bit more aor sistem
-more resources and resources corrections to improve the trade
-four new resources: fish, obsidian, salt and horses
-some new ui unit pictures
-new pirate ship ui picture from EB
-character ui corrections, now Agamemnon, Menelaus, Ajax and many others have their correct ui pictures
-Aeneas character now starts in Dardanus
-new character ui pictures based on TTW work
-Improved a bit the troyan family tree
-Now Dorians have barbarian culture
-Now Minoans have eastern culture
-Now Hattusha starts as a city
-Hittites now can build large walls
-many campaign balance changes
-some other minor improvements


Install instruccions:

1.Extract it.
2.Copy the Data folder to ...\Activision\Rome - Total War\TTW folder and overwrite all the files.
3.Delete map.rwm from ...\Activision\Rome - Total War\TTW\Data\world\maps\base folder
4.Play!

Minoans during that era aren't achaeans? Idomeneas from Knossos and Meriones (don't remember where from), not only participated to the trojan war but also put claims for the general leadership of the army instead of Agamemnon.
In iliad ,Idomeneas was one of the most important leaders of the Achaeans

I'm sorry but it isn't compatible with old TTW mf ed saved games (remember that I have added several more regions).

As you can see it adds many things. However actually I'm working in the next version that will be even greater and better.

I agree with you. For that reason I have changed the minoan culture from barbarian to eastern (all achaeans factions in the game have the eastern culture).

Very strange. I haven't touched the descr_sounds_units_ambient.txt file and TTW didn't use elephants
on any side. I think your problem comes from your vanilla RTW. My advice is to reinstall your game following these steps:

1. Install RTW + BI + patch 1.6
2. Install TTW 4.5 modfolder edition
3. Extract my file and copy the Data folder inside the TTW folder. Overwrite all the files. (Don't overwrite the vanilla Data folder!!!)
4. Delete map.rwm from ...\Activision\Rome - Total War\TTW\Data\world\maps\base folder
5. Use the TTW shortcut that will appear in your desktop to play

I had a similar problem, same sort of error, but it was for the fish resorse file (Not sure of the exact name) and that was because I copied all the addon files into the rome total war data folder, rather than the ttw data folder
A "quick" reinstall fixed the problem!

I'm not sure about what type of corrupted file do you ask. I have fixed lots of errors of the TTW mf ed.

I mean the .gloss files, used for the units metal reflect, for example, which was very bad in TTW.

The armour in ttw wasn't based on "shiny" armour really. the full bronze curiasses were made out of scales or discs of Bronze. Diomedes and Nestor are the only heroes that come to mind who had full bronze breast plates. Everyone else had the gritty leather armour.

You have to delete your old map.rwm in order to allow the game to create a new map.rwm with the new descr_strat.txt changes.

This is not complicated;
1- First find your RTW folder in your PC (the folder where the game was installed).
2- Inside that folder you can see more folders, open a folder called "TTW".
3- Open a folder, inside TTW folder, called Data.
4- Open a folder, inside Data folder, called world
5- Open a folder, inside world folder, called maps
6- Open a folder, inside maps folder, called base
7- Inside that folder you can find a file called map.rwm, delete only it.
8- Start a new campaign with TTW and the game will create a updated new map.rwm.

That is very strange because every time the game tries to load a campaign it creates a map.rwm file, even if it CTD's. If the game crashes it creates a bad map.rwm that have to be deleted. If you can't see it, Is it possible that in Vista you can't see that type of files?

User/AppData/Local/VirtualStore/Program Files/The Creative Assembly/Rome - Total War/TTW/Data/World/Maps/Base

That's where you'll find map.rwm on Vista.
(FYI, AppData is a hidden folder, so you have to unhide it in your user folder.
Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders)
