I´m still with the maximums....is there a maximum number of starting family members per faction?

I do not believe so. And for your edification, I believe that one needs only a faction leader as the minimum.

Yes, i already tested it recently, if you does not assign a faction heir, the PC assings one randomly
Well my Eastern Kingdoms now have about 40 Family Members so if there is a limit i gonna found it soon
