    Default Trolls vulnerable to stakes

How do I do this? Is it on the EDU file?

Nope - Infantry don't damage from Stakes, so you'd have to make them Cavalry - but that way they'd be weak against Spears, and the AI would send them to flank rather than living battering ram.

Blame poor cheap hardcoding, rather a complete entity editor.

Is there anyway to stop Trolls climbing ladders? Or is this just more cheap hard-coding ...

I think there is no way in stopping this, without the changing of the unit type.

I don`t really have an issue with trolls climbing ladders, anyway. Per se it`s ok that trolls climb ladders, just not that little ones.

So in the end it`s an graphical issue, imo. And if we can endure all the other flaws in the graphic (The Giant trees for example.) we can endure this.

They should make the ladders bigger then. What about the Mumakil entering cities? - same thing?

    Yes the same thing.

And while making the ladders bigger is possible, i think, just think about how it would look now, when "normal sized guys" climb then.

Yeah, ladders and siege engines (not catapults, etc, only those built when in a siege) are generic, not faction relevant.

In Rome, at least, you could make them culture relevant...

Again, poor, cheap, hard coding. Rome Total War looks fantastic - looking about at the mods like Zhang Huo Total War, and Blue Lotus. But with M2TW, where did all that go?

Because a different team did it.

What CA do is they have one team to create the 'revolutionary' game engines (Shogun, Rome, Empire) and then they have another team who 'evolutionise' the game engines (Medieval, Medieval 2, Napoleon) and that is where the hard coding starts, they don't spend as much time developing the 'evolutionary' games as much as the 'revolutionary' games.

That's my theory based on what I have found out...
