Roma Surrectum 1.6a: Questions, Suggestions & Discussion

Ok so I installed it onto my desktop (I tried to save it in my RTW folder, but it said I needed to be an administrator, I'm using a Vista) and when it finished downloading I move the .exe file to my RTW folder double click it and nothing happens, this black box comes up and then disappears, and nothing happens. Can someone please help me with this, thanks

Are you not set up as an administrator? Do you shate this PC with other people? That's the only reason that I can think of why your account is not the administrator account?

As you are using Vista - where have you installed RTW (c:\program files (x86)?) and what have you done with UAC?

I keep experiencing problems in regards to installing the new vegetations. An error keeps popping out saying "source file error".

Are you installing the mod or just part of it?

The whole mod. The installation setup was stop when it is trying to install new vegetation.

It sounds like your download is corrupted then. You are installing to a clean RTW? Where did yuo download the RS1.6 from - Fielfront or Megaupload?

I agree it sounds like a corrupted download/install.

Same error here. I downloaded from filefront and on install I get as well the source file error.

Can I just Patch my RS 1.5 to 1.6
or I must install RTW again?

when i installed 1.6 its like nothing happned the only thing i could see was a shortcut on my desktop that dosnt work perhaps this is the problem please advise

RS1.6 must be over a clean RTW / RTW BI install - it's there in the install instructions.

I'm finding that when fighting in the field in (so far) Italy or Greece, the ground is a strange white/grey colour. If you look beyond the border of the battle area the colour extends into the distance in a perfect square.

Any ideas?

Then I played the RTW-(RS)game and it was ok, but the BI-(RomaSurrectum)game does not work !

1) When I doubleclick the BI-(RS)icon it just starts again the RTW-(RS)game.
2) When I changed the info in the BI-(RS)icon from "C:\Spellen\Total War\RTW2\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -show_err -mod into "C:\Spellen\Total War\RTW2\RomeTW-BI.exe" -nm -show_err
you can see it does start loading the BI-game, but then crashes saying:
Error loading mount database and then:
Script Error in data/descr_mount.txt, at line 184, column 1.
Could not find battle model for mount 'half armoured horse'.

Why does the BI-(RS) game not work ?

By the way the modded environment looks great and you can feel the AI play very well differently. Nice!!!

Because you changed the information in the shortcut . . . the installations instructions quite clearly say, in large bold red text, that RS breaks (i.e. causes not to work) Vanilla/BI/Alex.

Yes, but with an unchanged shortcut I still get the not-working BI-(RomaSurrectum)game !?

I don't know what to tell you, aside from that installed it incorrectly, because I use the exact same shortcut and have no problems with the BI version not working. What exactly are you seeing when you use the RS-BI shortcut, as opposed to the regular RS shortcut?

Please post a screen of what you are describing. I presume it's going to be a problem with your graphics card and graphic options you've selected.

Along with a screen can you post your systems specs (CPU, memory, graphics card and operating system).

You are missing the -mod: switch on the RTW BI shortcut target. This is put there during the install. There is a colon ( missing from the end - I am fairly sure that is required.

that is the target of the short cut on my desktop

I installed it to this location

C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Rome - Total War

but i cant seem to get it to work or even find it after i install

You're likely running vista and are running into problems with the virtual store, search in the m2tw technical help there's a thread dedicated to getting things working vista.

hi i just downloaded 1.6 and when i go on it all looks the same from the last version every thing the landscape and the units or is there any new units but still nothing has changed

i had 1.5 then deleted rome total war and when i reinstlalled it i added 1.6 but some how my save from the last version are still there
