    b) Of course you are right about the vicjun post. My point was that he, like me, seems to have been unable to get vanilla working again without a new install, which is a mystery to me.

Well, thanks anyway. At least I can play my initial Morocco campaign now. It's quite different from vanilla. I wonder how I will be able to confront regular troops, if the Spaniards ever cross the Straits or that British invasion force will make up its mind to land in Tunis.
I was referring to RTI episode 4. this is the campaign which "main2" referst to. If you have not unlocked it you should copy the files to the "episodic_1" folder, which (i believe) referst to the first episode.
I must agree though that your bug is a mystery. Not working without reinstall is usually just user failure (forgetting the user.empire_script file).

Delete all other localisations. This includes old artillery mod localisation or maybe other mods files, i don't know about that exactly of course.
they are usually called something with localisation or text....
Ah I see...I recall having that at one point, I must have deleted it along with other seldom used pack files...where can I get that file then? Thanks!

    Mr Knight,

copying the files into "episodic_1" sadly didn't help - just another CTD (which btw, seems logical, as this is what happens when I attempt to begin a campaign). User_empire_script won't do, because it was created by ModManager. Behind all this is certainly some stupid mistake by myself, but, as we cannot find it, I think I'll have to give up at this point. I will watch this space, however, and perhaps I will give the next major revision of IS another go. Thank you once more for your help.

@Yodel Le Monk: Don't give up quite yet. We really do want to help you.

You have updated to 1.3 through Steam, yes?

And what other mods have you tried, other than IS?

    Mr Vicar,

I don't expect you to solve my problems. The Knight has already shown quite a lot of customer care for a Lazy person, and I really appreciate that.

Of course I updated via Steam, don't even know if there is another way.

I'm looking for a mod to enhance the gameplay of ETW, make it more complex, logical, and more of a challenge, as Total Realism did for Rome, or Deus lo Vult for M2TW. And it seems you are pretty much in front here.

So, except for an earlier version of IS (ante patch 1.3), I haven't tried other mods yet - but I am darn glad I installed your FX04 pack!

one last question. Are you sure your files are named correctly, i.e. "startpos.esf" and "scripting.lua"? I.e. you have not renamed them into IS_startpos.esf or something?

    Mr Knight, Mr Vicar,

I've solved it!!! Yes!!! (At least I think so)
The Knight's last question sent me back to the vaults of the ETW support forum, where I found this thread: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/48251.
I now remember that vanilla apparently reset my game options whenever I launched IS, so I write-protected my preferences.empire_script file. I have no idea why, but that must have been it.
Deleted it - removed the IS files - there was my vanilla campaign - put IS back in - and voilá - here I go.

I knew it was some stupid mistake on my part . So thank you one last time for your efforts and keep up the good work!

(Now I wonder if my preferences still get overwritten... but I guess I can bear that.)

When I click "end turn" for the first time in a campaign (i.e after first turn), the counter stops at Louisiana. The game doesn't freeze or crash, I'm still able to enter the menu, etc, but Louisiana's turn just never ends. I suspect this has to do with having lots of mods installed, but maybe it's a common problem. Here's my mod manager

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I'll check the startpos.esf and maybe make a video of the event and post it here later. Meanwhile, I'd appreciate any help.

louisiana takes very long the first few turns
If you had more CPU that would propably help, you can also check the Optional files thread for the file handing over the protectorates to their master. This solves the problem in another way.

@vicjun: Another option would be to download the Optional Scripting.lua #1, which grants the handovers of the protectorates at game start. It does get rid of that particular issue, I've noticed.

EDIT: Which, if I'd read LK's post above mine, I would have seen that he already suggested.

My game crashes before the campaign starts or as soon as I click on something in the campaign. First I tried Morocco, crashed before it even got the campaign. Then i tried Venice, it made it to the campaign map but crashed as soon as I clicked on something, the same also happened with GB.

I know, it's in the bug thread as well, but I just realized that it wasn't the appropriate thread for this.

EDIT: Custom battles do work, loving Morocco already.

eggthief check you have the IS2 startpos file in the correct place.

I think not starting a campaign like that sound like you have another startpos file in place, you need the custom IS2 versions.

Also maybe check the scripting lua is correct.

The startpos file is in the correct place. How do I know if the scripting lua is correct? In case it isn't, is there any way I can reset it manually?

a missing startpos would cause a crash when entering the faction selection. A corrupted one (or just wrong references, e.g. IS2 startpos file without IS2 mod enabled) would cause a crash when starting the campaign.
Crashing in the campaign when clicking something is very strange.

Are you sure this has not happened before you installed the mod?

No it never happened, just before I decided to install this mod I was still playing a vanilla French campaign without this problem.

It CTD's everytime I load it up. I am followed the instructions to the letter and it only seems to be related to this mod.

    Can someone help?

I've done the verify steam data too.

the roaming script thing is as follows:

    mod "familytreemod.pack";
    mod "Imperial Splendour DLC Enabled.pack";
