    Default Regmod

    I started a new campagin.
    But I also made a change to the descr_strat file. The error started just after this change.

    So here are some of the changes:
    Here I switched the origional rebel base "region Dorset_Region" from 'rebel' to the 'english' so that the english start off with the settlement (with a total of 4 settlements now). All the stats were kept the same (Simply just copying and paste and deleting the rebel text left over).


    After that I switched over the rebel army (and deleted the rebel contents left over after copying and pasting) that was origionaly inside the base and put them under the english rule so that the english would start of with the units inside as well. I also then deleted some of the units that were inside, such as the knights (generals bodyguard I think) and other units (town milita and spearmen I think).

    Character samuel and his army (below and above) were the origional rebel units that were part of the region Dorset_Region. (the units that were switched over)

    The most major changes were made above. After which the game didnt work hence.

    I also made some minor changes to the diplomacy in the faction_standings section and the faction_relationships section 1. I changed some opponions for some factions towards each other, 2. added mali to the faction_relationships list and 3. I also made the turks and byzantium be at war with each other at the start of the game. I did make some tests with the above diplomacy changes. The game was running fine with all of the changes to the diplomacy and also adding mali to the faction_relationships list.
    But here is the diplomacy part of the descr_strat file just in case. These diplomacy changes were made befor the switching of the rebel and english regions/armies.

    Nowadays I do those things with Geomod. Takes one minute and avoids mistakes.

    If you shuffle things around in the descr_strat, it is always a bad idea to use copy\paste. Instead use cut\paste. Like cutting the settlement out of the slave faction's place and pasting into the england faction's place. Same with the character.
    All that would have been left would be to change the characters faction and maybe the name if it wasn't in england's section in the descr_names file.

    Start again (you do have a backup copy, don't you?) and proceed as mentioned above.

    I have a copy. Ill try to cut/paste next time, although i dont feel thats gona make a difference.

    If that doesn't do the trick, then you still have done something else.
    The diplomacy stuff will not create a crash.

    Dam, the Geomod failed to load RegionMod_Kings. It came up with a error saying: "Unknown faction or culture 'Cumans' detected in the EDU at line 16315! The program will now exit."

    Go to the line, there will be a space or comma that doesn't belong there. Use my file that I have attached. I went through that process already. Make a backup before you use mine!

    Thx gigantus that got me through.

    So ive changed the bases around from rebel to english. I tested to see if it worked. Nonthing changed, but I think thats because i didnt validate it. So ill try (to remember) to validate next time and see what happens. I checked the descr strat and it was also unchanged. But the geomod is working fine.

    Got the change validated. It worked. All is well

    You have to validate all your entries before starting a new step. Validating writes changes to the files concerned but does not save them. That you have to do on exit or intermittent (Ctrl+S).

    Rule of thumb: if you change something and you have a validate button, click on it before you do the next item. Like new regions, validate them one at a time before going to the next. Or characters. Or settlements.

    Im getting very good at using the swiss army knife xD Its almost to easy... but thats what you get with power. A few things I've changed so far:
    - Given denmark a extra starting region (Hamburg_Province) including previous rebel units that were inside.
    - Rearanged some of Denmarks characters (spy, merchant, general and army).
    - Added a extra long boat unit to Denmarks navy.
    - Moved HRE nothern starting army from the "Freisland_Province" to the northern part of "Bavaria".
    - Upgraded the settlement in the "Cologne_Province" as I saw befor it had a massive, strong rebel army inside, but the settlement was only a town. So I didnt feel It was balanced.

    Tests all those changes and they all worked So im very happy with the map editor and the mod.
    Except, Im thinking on working on the campagin menu map (when selecting the factions), adding in some 'eye candy' over the blocky paint, that is still strange to look at. Its the only outstanding 'cheap done' part of the mod. But it'll be done as a gift (free of charge)

    I have added some forts and resources - and it works! Great tool. I'm going to try to change Hedjaz into the Emirate of Syria.
