Has anyone else read this great book?

"Azincourt" by Bernard Cornwell.

Fantastic!!

It tells the story of an English longbowman on the Azincourt Campaign. Very well composed, Azincourt is seen from the soldiers point of view. The descriptions of hand to hand combat are so well written you can smell the sweat, blood and fear!!

I highly recommend it to anyone interested in that period of military history.

Actually I had it in my hand a few months ago. I may buy it when I have downsized the gigantic pile of books to read on my desk.

By the way, I did, at the time, instead go for Empires of the Sea, about the wars between the turkish and the catholic states for dominance of the Mediterranean. That is an absolutely enormously great book to read. Especially the siege of Malta leaves you wondering when Hollywood will pick this subject up.

A must.
