crusades campaign

im having problems with this campaign only when i enter battlefields(no sieges, which strangely enough they seem to work) when i enter the battle everything seems fine until i press start battle and it ctd and a box appears saying Medieval 2:Total War has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit, any help on this please?

CAMPAIGN:a little update on the campaigns, its been happening on crusades, rennaisance and empires. I still have to check on new age.
PROBLEM:after pressing start battle(on a battlefield, not sieges) the game crashes to desktop and a box appears saying "Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit".
WHAT I WAS TRYING TO DO:fight a battle on battlefields, this also happens on custom battle.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to replicate this crash, nor have I found any circumstances where only siege battles work so I don't know what's causing this crash.

My only advise is tro try to upgrade to the 1.5 version and see if this fixes the problem.
